Assume, for a moment, that you could think about the Twilight series' leading men from an objective, non-Bella point of view. Meaning, you'd be free of jeopardy from vicious vampires like Victoria and Jane and perhaps not subject to the forces of nature and disastrous luck (i.e., not almost run over by Tyler Crowley's van).
Now, of all of the leading men in the Twilight series, which would make the best husband?
Obviously, one choice would be Edward Cullen. Sweet, a tad over-protective, generous, and very humble, Edward Cullen's character is certainly one that any woman would be lucky to have a marriage with. Perhap Edward's most shining quality, as a character, is his ability to overlook the mistakes that you'll undoubtedly make throughout your life, and to forgive his wife for her human fallacies. He also has an appreciation and worldliness in the arts and culture.
Second, there's Jacob Black. He, too, is extremely generous with what he has - and that is love. With the promise of friendship and comfort, Jacob Black is a character that would certainly never leave his wife bored. Jacob might also see you as his only sunshine, if you're the right one, and be bound to love you infinitesimally.
Next, we have Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Compassionate, serene, and completely selfless, Dr. Cullen is one that would stay at an even keel and not over-react to any situation. If calm and reliable is a necessary trait in your spouse, Carlisle is the one to seek. Not to mention, Carlisle knows a thing or two about Europe - a plus for any travelling gal.
Or is he? Calm, indeed, could also be gained by the next potential Twilight mate - Jasper Hale. Only, the calm stemming from Jasper's existence would be yours, as he effectuates his charisma upon your very emotion.
Emmett Cullen would be a fun husband. Never dull and always apt to prove something, Emmett would be strong and loyal, and he would certainly make sure that dinner was on the table (by his bare hands if necessary - "bear" hands, rather).
Chief Charlie Swan would also make for an interesting spouse. Though he might not have time to offer, he'd certainly be able to provide earnesty and predictability. Charlie's constancy as a person makes him far from high maintenance and easy to please.
Which bring us to Mike Newton. He, too, seems to be rather constant. Mike prefers to smile and maintain that jovial wit about him, though he does have a bit of a jealous bone. Mike would also be able to help his mate to blend into the mainstream social scene as he is a dynamic addition to the popular and good-natured groups around town.
Of the side characters, there is also Eric Yorkie - who, though a tad "overly friendly," means well and would probably go out of his way to open a door for his wife every now and then. As for Tyler Crowley, he may be a bit clumsy and disaster-prone, but when he makes a promise, he sticks to it. As for James, well, if you prefer the bad-boys who know how to find you, he's your vampire.

For sure Edward, he is what every woman wants, kind caring, protective, sexy, gentlmen, sexual oh the list could go on forever and anyone whos read the saga knows that !
Well Edward is of course beautiful and deep, and passionate, so he's obviously the first choice for a lot of girls, but Jasper is tied for first with him. The southern gentleman with a heart of gold, who is also beautiful.... how can a girl choose between those two?? lol
My top two would be Carlisle then Edward. I put Edward 2nd bc he might be a little too controlling but over all he would be awesome so it's basically a tie. I just love Carlisle & he bought Esme an Island so you know he knows how to treat a woman!
Of course Emmett would be a great protector & I wouldn't mind demolishing houses with him at all. Then there is Jasper who could really help with pms so it's all good.

Hmmm... Edward would go to the ends of the earth to protect me, Jasper would always know how to make me feel better and Carlisle has compassion and medical training... All 3 are beautiful inside and out... Ummm... All 3 are rich and would be able to take care of me. All 3 would give me the freedom to pursue whatever interests I might have and support me all the way... How can a girl choose? All 3 are tall, just how I like it? Yeah, I'm stuck. As a perfect husband they are all, well, perfect. But my heart still belongs to Edward.
OMG could this be any more stupid? People get a flipping life - away form a teen book. No wonder the cast say the fans creep them out and even the author said it was sad how people confuse real life with the book - you have a REAL life, trying living in it as everyone now must see you as beyond pathetic and laugh behind your back - which character should I pick for my husband? I`d really have to say Edward. I just love how he accepts all of Bella`s flaws. It`s sweet and of course the guy can play a piano. I definitely like that! ;)

'Best'? What does that mean? 'Best' defined from an individual point of view would be 'what am I looking for right now?' The answer, from my perspective would be Emmett. Long term: Carlisle. Short term: Edward. Pure romantic angst: Jacob (as in, he's perfect! I should love him. Why don't I?'
This is every girls dream! i would be happy for any guy with these characteristics! This is one of my favorite things about the Twilight Series, the men are fantastic! ow ow! If i had to choose who i wanted to be my husband, i would be completly torn between Mike Newton and Jacob Black. I think the key to every good relationship is being friends first! Mike Newton is one of those guys who you just cant help smiling when you read about him, he is sweet funny and the perfect friend! Jacob on the other hand is more of the hopless romantic, he trys soo hard! Any guy who trys that hard to win over my heart is worth giving a shot! In my opinion Bella is a loser, in the best way possible. :) She doesnt take the time to see whats right in front of her! maybe one day she will! booo Edward! TEAM JACOB ALL THE WAY! :)
It would be a very hard decision to choose which of these chrarcters would be the best one for a husband. From my personal experiences it would be between Jasper, Edward, and Emmett Cullen. I would mostly prefer Emmett because he would be strong enough to protect me.
For me I would have to say Edward, because he is so old school and remembers how to be a gentlemen...Edward no question :)

My real life husband is sort of a mix of Jacob and Emmett, leaning towards the Emmett side... and we have a great and wonderful marriage... so I guess I'd have to say Emmett :-) (Though I adore Jacob)

I'm not fifteen, and I think the question is fine. It's a question of what sort of characteristics each has versus what you expect from your spouse. I don't think it's ridiculous or childish! Oh and I did marry someone more like Mike or Eric than any of the others: smart, loyal, trustworthy, and easy to communicate with.

I wouldnt be able to choose, theres qualities i like in all of them and qualities I dont like. Would be a very tough choice. I guess I would go with edward and we will just have to work on some of those bad qualities, like always being afraid of hurting his human soulmate. Edward just doesn't give himself any credit.

I can't decide. All have qualities I adore in a man..
like bella swan i am tied between jake and edward. one one hand edward - the obvious choice for your perfect man - is a beautiful, kind and generous person...he is perfect but then theres jacob. he is a humble character and very easy to like (unless of corse u are a die hard edward fan and see him as a girlfriend stealer:D). he brings bella happiness at a time when she is under threat of drowning in her depression simply just by being around her - his happy-go-lucky attitude is contagious (and i'm saying tht about a book character...he reali must b sumthin special.)
but then i think of edward...nd i hav to think it through all over again...
James. ...I always fall for the bad guy for some reason.
i don't know it is so hard to choose but i most likely would choose either Edward or Jacob
