'Twilight' star Peter Facinelli's show 'Nurse Jackie' breaks records, picked up for new season

The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Peter Facinelli and his co-star The Sopranos great Edie Falco made waves this week when their new show Nurse Jackie, hit the air Monday evening.

According to THR,

Showtime is giving a second season order to "Nurse Jackie" after the Edie Falco drama became Showtime's most-watched series premiere ever Monday night.

"Jackie" was seen by 1 million viewers, then gathered another 350,000 watchers during its same-night repeat for a total of 1.35 million viewers. That surpasses the prior same-night series premiere record holder, "Secret Diary of a Call Girl," which opened to about 950,000 viewers last year.

The season debut of "Weeds" served as lead-in, garnering a total of 1.7 million across two showings, down just a smidgen from last year (-4%).

In one of its characteristic early pickup moves, Showtime decided to order another 13 episodes of "Jackie" based on the overnight numbers.
