The list of Grammy nominations is in, and guess what? There are some Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon folks on the various lists.
For starters, the Twilight soundtrack itself is nominated for for “Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.” Twilight soundtrack front-group Paramore is also nominated for “Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media” for “Decode” from the Twilight soundtrack. Probably won't see them turn down the opportunity to win a Grammy for the sake of avoiding "house vampire band" status, now will we?
Moving right along, The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack front-group Death Cab for Cutie is also nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of “Best Alternative Music Album” for “The Open Door.” New Moon score composer Alexandre Desplat is nominated as well for “Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media” for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (Disc 1).
Note that the nominations were based on musical recordings released between October 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009. In other words, don't fret - next year'll be the time to see whether the New Moon soundtrack gets a nod or not.

There are not many cds that I can listen to repeatedly or even all the way through. I can with the Twilight soundtrack. I'm starting to love the New Moon soundtrack also. If you don't like the New Moon soundtrack, make sure you watch the movie, then give the cd a chance. Makes a huge difference.
I am not surprised at all. It's a great soundtrack. Picking the music to go with Twilight is one of the only good things CH did.

I have both of the soundtracks and love them both. I got Twilight soundtrack after I saw the movie a few times and then got New Moon soundtrack when it was released before the movie came out. I liked it, but I like it even more after I saw the movie a couple times. It's better to get it I think after the movie just cause you can then start to place the songs into the movie. If you get it before, you'll get a chance to get to know the songs before you see the movie, but you wont' know what scenes the songs play in. I hope they win. They are both really good.
I don't agree with any part of the New Moon soundtrack being nominated for anything - other than the most boring and yawn inducing soundtrack of 2009. Twilight on the other hand, was brilliant and deserves any nominations/awards it receives.
I think that will mean that New Moon and Eclipse will be against themselves for next year!
