So, there's good news for us Twilight fans - Bella Swan will be, in line with New Moon the book (for more New Moon expectations see here) be cliff-diving.
Below, Kristen Stewart talks about her preparation for the cliff-diving scene in New Moon. Says she, she went to do a "head-scan" where she had to make a solid face and hold it in preparation for a computerized Bella to be made for the cliff-diving scene.
She gets to "almost jump" on her own, she says.
This is great news for us Twilight fans who wish to see scenes like Bella's cliff-dive presented perfectly to us. Chris Weitz, New Moon's director, has some experience with CGI in his work on The Golden Compass and others.

I kind of wish they were really having her jump or a stunt double perhaps but CGI has really come a long way so it may end up being a very beautiful and artistic scene
I think it's great, cause the actors may not be able to preform this perfectly on there own.
...now lets just hope they get the "voices" right! ;)
i think it is the most safest way to perform this stunt. i wouldnt want anyone to be seriously injured or killed just for my entertainment. plus im extremly happy that they are including this scene in the movie...he is staying tru to my favorite new moon! lol. thanks chris!
i think its great that they are doing it the right way and not puttuing anybody's life in danger and also happy because they are including this scene:)
I love that they are putting this scene in because its like the climax of the book... it is the reason edward goes to the volturi... Im happy that kristen doesnt have to have the risk of getting hurt trying to do an important scene!
I HOPE THE EFFECTS WIIL BE GOOD. KRISTEN IS AWESOME. THEY ARE IN CANADA SOO LUCKY. WITH I WAS ON SET WORKING TOO.

Definitely! I LOVE the work that Chris Weitz did in the Golden Compass. I can't wait to see how he transforms New Moon onto the screen. Especially Bella's cliff dive! Trust me, I am all for them using CGI when needed. And I know Chris will make it look amazing. :)

I think it's a good idea considering the danger in actual cliff diving, but they better make it look believable I'd hate to have to watch something that looks fake.
I think the CGI will add a lot to the movie. Caitlin is right, it has come a long way. As long as they don't try to use it too much and still keep it realistic as well as true to the book (as much as possible),it will be great!
I reckon that the CGI will be great. 'Benjamin Button' has proved that CGI is amazing and has come so far. CGI will make the scene great. I'm rally looking forward to New Moon.
Even thought in most movies the CGI is usually good, I just dont think they should use it for this. She obviously wants to do the jump, it would be different if she didnt want to do it. Even then they could get a stunt double. But CGI seriously? Like in twiliht how they had Kristen, and Rob climb up a little tree, and then have the stunt doubles climb a big one for the sceen after she sees his room, why couldnt they just do something like that for this? They could just pick a smaller clif for her to jump from, and then make it look bigger in the movie. I think its a dumb move on their part. And I totally HATE who they have casted for the wolf pack! None of those guys even look native american! Taylor Lautner looks more native american than they do, and they had to have proof that they were! They should have stuck with the two boys from the La Push beach scene in twilight, I could totally picture them being a part of the wolf pack. But all the men they casted dont even fit the part. I'm disgusted with what they are doing with this movie. First with Chris, and now CGI, and horrible casting. Just seems to me they are trying to get all these big stars in on this to make more money. Stick with un-known actors and atleast TRY to make them fit the part. I'm a HUGE fan of twilight series and this is totally killing it for me. As of right now I will most likely NOT being going to see New Moon >:[
CGI has come a long way and it can't be bad for any movie. Look at the curious case of Benjamin Button, practically the whole movie using CGI. And i don't get why everyone is hating on Chris Weitz, he hasent given anyone a reason to. Let give the man a chance to make the book everyone loves so much into a movie we will be happy with. could have been alot better then it was.

I agree with V and Sabrina. Chris Weitz has done some awesome directing in the Golden Compass and About A Boy. I can't really see why people are bashing him. I do agree his producing choices are horrible, his directing choices are not. I love the cgi choices he did with the golden compass.
if they run through it and it looks horrible i hope they will fix it and let her do the stunt. its not like she is opposed to do it herself by the looks of it she wants to do it
she should be able to do it herself it would look so much better .. Kristan is a awsome actress she could do about anything
i love Kristen she is a great actress i am so glad they are doin the cliff dive
