Back in June, the news came that Twilight series-inspired Barbie dolls of Edward and Bella were being made available in Canada, but the details were thin, and ordering availability for non-Canadians was as-yet unknown.
Summit Entertainment has just announced, however, a very exciting update.
These Barbies will be available starting on November 1st, just in time for The Twilight Saga: New Moon's release, for $24.95 whereever dolls are sold.
Sharon Zuckerman, the designer of the Edward and Bella Barbie dolls, is also a Twilight fan and had this to say about the line:
I fell in love with the TWILIGHT series and was obsessively reading the books when I was assigned the project to design the Edward and Bella Barbie dolls. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to find out that I would design the dolls and get to work with Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie herself came to Mattel and art directed the look of the dolls. She was integral in perfecting every detail as she really wanted Edward and Bella to embody the spirit of the characters that she envisioned while writing the series. We also had the ACTUAL costumes from the movie set that were used in the “Forever 17” scene to help inspire the costumes for the dolls. It was an unforgettable experience and I hope TWILIGHT fans are just as excited about the dolls as I am!
This photo is an exclusive first-look at the dolls, set beautifully in a meadow similar to that in the film.

i probably won't, i never liked barbie dolls, i didn't play with them at all when i was little. if they made an Alice i might consider it.
I can let the Edward and Bella Barbies play with my Mulder and Scully Barbies that have never left their box.
i will indeed buy them, and i suggest everyone who can afford them, buy them, and never open them...
as you may already know, they will certainly become collectors items someday... the first twilight barbies, yeah a good investment.
I used to work for Mattel a while ago and Collector Dolls were very highly sort after (probably still are). I can't see why these dolls wouldn't be as well, so long as the production numbers were limited.
They're just trying to cash in on the huge Twilight phenomenon, making some $ out of other peoples' success.
I don't think it's cashing in to give people what they want. I definitely want one of these! I'm a Barbie COllector and a Twilight fan so this is just peaches where I'm concerned!
YES! I collect Barbies. I have seance i was a little girl. I am also a huge fan of Twilight. I have every book... I do mean every book.. From the first ones. To the ones made after the movie came out. With the cover different. I collect everything that comes out with Twilight on it.From mag. to pictures. I can't wait for the Barbies to hit the USA I will be the first in line to get the whole set.
I'm with AGF on this one, if they come out with a Rosalie or Alice or Emmett, then yeah... ofcourse if they have the whole cast I would probably invest in the whole cast to keep things all together. Would probably stand them on their own long shelf on my book wall with the books.. it would be nice to have a Rachelle/Victoria doll too. Even in Dallas took her place.. Rachelle will always be Victoria to me.
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes!!!!!
they forgot to make him sparkle
This is pretty neat. I think it would definitely be neat to have the whole line-up from the movie. Or at least, Jacob too. It doesn't make sense to make the "Twilight duo" for the New Moon movie when it's now officially the "three" of them in a sense. Still pretty wicked.... keep on cashing it all in. lol. Some of the merchandise is hilarious.
wherever has only one "e"
