'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
This morning, the epic first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was revealed, and it showed the world quite a few important elements of the film.
For instance, it offered a first glimpse of Bryce Dallas Howard in the role of "Victoria."
Also, it showed a teeny snippet of what the proposal scene between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) will look like.
A little over a minute and a half's worth of material thusly revealed a great wealth of information to fans about what the film has in store.
However, there are still quite a few things yet to be seen with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and here's a run-down of what some of those things are.
- Graduation
Forks High School's graduation ceremony is an important part of the Eclipse story. Not only is it a moniker of movement for Bella (meaning, it is the date of significance, at least at first, for her coming "transformation"), but it is also a rather quirky and fun scene. If done well, it should show an exuberant Alice (Ashley Greene in the film) - whose head is swimming with song to disguise her real thoughts - and a very perplexed Edward crossing the stage together. It'll also be a pretty touching scene for Bella and Charlie (Billy Burke).
- The Third Wife
One scene that a lot of Team La Push fans or Team Billy Black fans look forward to is the story-telling scene with Gil Birmingham. In the book, Bella is allowed to sit in on a tribal meeting where Black reveals the legends and stories of his tribe. One portion of the story that really sticks out to and affects Bella is the "third wife" scene. Chances are, if Eclipse is anything like the prior two movies, a bit of vision will accompany the story. Perhaps, then, we'll get to see some of that story (and the third wife of legend) unfold on-screen as well.
- Leah and Seth
As two of the only roles cast for Eclipse, Leah Clearwater (Julia Jones) and Seth Clearwater (Boo Boo Stewart) are two people that we'll finally get to see in Eclipse. The two are siblings in human form, and they both become important members of the wolfpack in Eclipse. So, not only will we get to see these two characters in their human form, but we'll also get to see them in wolf form (hope Seth's fur is sandy!).
- Jasper Hale (yee-haw!)
Oh, the things we'll get to see with Jasper Hale. Jasper (Jackson Rathbone)'s southern roots are an irreplacable part of the story in Eclipse. We get to learn not only about how he became a vampire, but also about how he became a great newborn vampire hunter. Jasper, in his former "family," was a leader, a warrior, and a winner. His backstory is one of the most brutal and intense, but it's also one of the most honest and exciting. Jasper Hale on horseback? Yes ma'am!
- Edward's Motorcycle
I don't know about you guys, but I thought that the scene where Edward shows Bella the motorcycle he has bought to ride alongside her was pretty important. It is the moment where Edward accepts, and states, that there are some parts of Bella's life that belong to Jacob. It wistfully sad, in a lot of ways, because you feel for his effort . . . but at the same time, it is a reminder of the fact that Jacob was there for Bella during New Moon.
- Bella's Helmet
In almost the same instance as you see that bit of rejection for Edward, you get to see a really cute exchange between Bella and Edward about her motorcycle safety attire. Edward has provided Bella with a helmet and a jacket, and, though she feels a little silly wearing the garb, he thinks she looks "sexy." Should be interesting to see that moment unfold on-screen . . .
- Rosalie as Human
Jasper's backstory and the tribal legend scenes aren't the only blasts from the past. Rosalie (Nikki Reed), too, gets her moment in the sun. Her backstory serves to humanize her a bit, at least in the eyes of Bella, and to explain her viciousness and her vote. Rosalie was a human who was paraded around like chattel by her fiance, Royce King II (Jack Huston). She was the fairest of them all in Rochester, and it'll be interesting to see how Nikki Reed looks as the lovely human form Rosalie. Not to mention, how they portray her very "theatrical" vengeance upon her attackers.
- Riley, Bree, and the Newborns
Leah and Seth are the two new wolfpack characters of importance, and Riley and Bree are the newest vampires we love to hate. Riley (Xavier Samuel) is Victoria's love-struck sidekick whose prevalence throughout the entire story serves to confuse everyone on the homefront. That is, until he and Edward have their epic showdown by the mountain. Similarly, Bree (Jodelle Ferland) is a character that comes about in Eclipse. While she wasn't a critical character in the story (except, perhaps, to show the mercilessness of the Volturi), Ferland tweeted about filming for several days - perhaps even weeks. My guess is that she'll be in more than one scene in the film, especially since they've brought in such an experienced and well-known actress for the role. The newborns, too, are new characters. Though most have no name or personalities to speak of, they are still rampant throughout the storyline, both far away in Seattle and right at home in Forks. It should be very interesting to see how the newborns (those in Victoria's army and those which Jasper battles in his backstory) appear.
- The Ring
As Twilight Lexicon points out in their Eclipse trailer analysis, the meadow scene in the trailer shows a brief flash of Bella's engagement ring. The ring, which becomes almost a character of its own in the story, has a story and a history that is indicative of Edward's past. It belonged to his mother, and it is described as follows: "Nestled into the black satin, Elizabeth Masen’s ring sparkled in the dim light. The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold — delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.” Now, many have tried to replicate the design of the ring by this description. For instance, here is a vendor that has offered one version of the ring, and here is another. They are quite different. Needless to say, Stephenie Meyer is protective of her baby (the baby being her beautiful stories of course), so chances are she had a say in this important matter. Should be interesting to see the jewelry they've chosen for this moment.

You hit it right on the nose I would just include fight training! Was hoping to see some of that!
But they can't include everything, her's hoping we get at least a couple more trailers in the next 100 days! ;-)

Yea that's was so disappointing about the trailer NONE OF THAT haha .. But I understand what trailers are suppose to do. I don't like Melissa's take on the story and the bad lines but oh well I'M GOING TO HAVE FUN EITHER WAY ! I have my books.

I don't know why, but I really wanna see all the Bella-Jacob moments. Everything from Bella skipping school with Jacob to the fight training when Bella lays in Jacobs fur! And the end!!! When Jacob lays hurt in his bed!! Ahhh.. I wanna see the whole movie now!!!!

She didnt see the point, but when he returned he "showed her the new use for it"!!! That part was hot and it was the first glimse of them of Edward being able to better control himself, I pray that part was put in it only because Edward through out all the movies/books up till now has ALWAYS had to restrain himself

They won't show any of those things yet. I doubt we'll see the ring and the bed before the movie. As for the tent scene, we may see that in the next trailer. I do think we will see Alice's Porsche in a trailer.

I've seen the pictures of Edward and Bella on his bed. This is the BEST scene of the whole book.
Where Bella punches Jacob leading into the confrontation in the drive way with Edward putting Jacob in his place. It has to be seen.

The scene when Jacob goes to school to talk to Edward and then when Bella and Edward are in class and he tell her what happen in a note ( I love the part when he say that not even the planes black box would have survived if she had gone alone and he starts been all funny).I really want to see the scene when Bella punch Jacob in the face and broke her hand and then when she gets home, and Charlie acs all funny, and of course the following scene when she call Edward and she tell him what Jacob did and he races to her house, and the conversation between Edward and Jacob which is going to be very funny!! (I like the part when he says that he doesn't care if a meteor fall on her head!!)I JUST LOVE ECLIPSE I WANT EVERYTHING TO BE IN THERE
I forgot to mention that I want to see when Jacob (on wolf for) leaks Bella's face, and when she is all over his arm (in wolf form) and she tell him that she always wanted a dog but Renne is alergic!!!

I was so excited to see the trailer but it would have been a little better if it was more tense.I'm definitely going to cry on jacob&bella's scenes.he just makes every scene epic to me:) the new victoria and the volturi i don't have much to say until i see the movie.
i think they should have kept Rachelle LeFevre. she just looks more vampire-ish. and i liked her hair better =). i hope they more of bella and edward being romantic towards eachother. thats one thing i loved about eclips-all the lovin! i'm not a big fan of the third wife story but hey should put it in so the newborn fight scene makes more sense when bella tries to "kill" herself
I love Eclipse, it is my fave book in the saga and I expect a lot from David.

Graduation and Graduation party, jacob's gift and Jacob saying they were going to help with the newborns, Jacob as a wolf liking bellas face and Edward disgusted face!,Alice looking all miserable asking if Bella would go "chopping with her" the next day Bella saying that she always wanted a dog but Renne is alergic!, The engagement scene and Bella trying to seduce a vampire!!

Bella letting Alece do the wedding and the last scene when Edward tell her that she can have it her way, but she say she is going to do things right!And of course one of my favorite things, Bella punching Jacob and then Edwar racing home to put him in his place.(I don't care if a meteor falls of the sky and hits her in the head, if you bring her back in less than the perfect condition i let her you will be running in three legs and if you kiss her agaiin i will break your jaw) or something like that whatever I think is funny. sorry i write a lot,i just love ECLIPSE, is my favorite

is there a reson why movies have to cut so much from a book? i know i would watch a 4 hour Twilight saga.I watched Gone With The Wind over 400 times and read the book approx.1000 times. Anyone with me?. Put it ALL in there. Its all so good! Cant get enough of this family and their story. WONDERFUL1

I agree with everyone and would add the scene when Bella is in her truck crying because she told Jacob that she hadn't changed her mind about him and Edward comes to soothe her and then go home with her and they talk about loving each other and go off to plan the marriage in the morning. It is so touching. I just want to see more of Edward and Bella, but I have a feeling from reading a transcript a few weeks ago that these touching scenses arearent' there.
i think they should have kept rachelle lefevre she was so much more fitting.but i'd rather see bryce die in the end then rachelle.the scenes i want to see are jasper and rosalies storiyes, jane using her powers on bree, the fight prep, the tent scene(duh)edward threatening jake after he kisses bella, the new bigger CG wolf pack, alices porche and her all mad, the meadow (again duh),bella wedding dress, alice freaking out when bella tells her she'll be her maid of honor, and charlie trying to have the sex talk with bella. i also love how they add scenes that werent in the books like the nomads killing walin fordge in twilight, victoria being chased in new moon i think alot more of those scenes showing the newborn army and rileys transformation would make the movie much better because you've never read them!
I can hardly wait for Eclipse!!I LOVE ALL THE BOOKS,and hope to see more angles by Stephanie... There are so many different stories. Stephanie really gets your imagination going. Eclipse I think will be the best.. I definitely hope they do Breaking Dawn in 2 parts and no 3D. I Looooove this world that she created.
I just can't wait until it finally comes out.. so excited. I wish also that they could fit the whole book, I would set and watch, throw in an intermission if need be. I would be willing to bet all the twilight fans would set thru it..I hope they have a good sound track too.<3
