The premiere for The Twilight Saga: New Moon was, as you already know, webcast on MySpace Monday evening, and, according to a few recent statistics, it was a record-breaking event.
It is reported that there were over 3 million viewers (2 million uniques) and that these figures mark the highest number of total viewers on any Ustream red carpet event ever. Also, it is reported that the MySpace premiere was the farthest-reaching event Ustream has had to date.
The premiere archived footage is now available for viewing here as well.
Now, as an aside, it has been reported by many readers that they weren't too pleased with the actual footage - particularly some of the hosts and their antics. That aside, it's stll always great to hear from the cast!

Yeah it broke records DESPITE the lousy hosts. Fans just didn't have any other way of seeing the premiere. Hope they do more livecast in the future, but with more competent hosts who actually know the peeps they're covering.
I didn't like one host in particular but it still was cool to see everything live..
I'm wondering where did they get the number of 3 million viewers. On the viewers counter on the screen it reached a little over 250 thousand tops (when Pattinson, Lautner and Stweart arrived), never 1 million, let alone 3!
That is wild...I bet now they wished they got someone other than Anya Marina SHE SUCKED!!!LMAO!! Maybe they would have had more! :P
Wow...I kinda like Anya Marina. I didn't mind the hosts at all.
HA HA HAHA..I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT SO... I was very upset with Anya Marina. Its great she is on the soundtrack.. I don't know who's arse she had to kiss to get there but seriously I know other artists (Like the one out of Phoenix Candace Charee) who would have not only been better on the soundtrack but better as a host! Anya used every attempt to plug herself, even took time away from the interview with KRISTEN STEWART to say "Do you know my, you inspired my song..." and then when KSTEW walked away she said to the other host "I left her starstruck" ANYWAY YOU ARSE.. BELLA INSPIRED THE SONG NOT KRISTEN STEWART
It ruined my night, seriously. She had NO clue about anything relating to the cast referring to Kellan Lutz as the "other vampire guy" SERIOSLY?
So yea.. this is a touchy subject for me because there were millions of fans that would have done this red carpet event better justice. BTW. KUDOS TO MYSPACE WINNER COURTNEY, YOU WERE THE BELLA OF THE BALL *winks*
Totally agree! Anya used every opportunity to self-promote, & it wasn't pretty. But I really enjoyed seeing most of the cast, and everyone looked great. Particularly loved Rob on the red carpet. Last year he was so frazzled and unsure of himself; now he's got everything in perspective, responded so genuinely to the questions, and has matured in so many ways. So impressive!
I saw New Moon last night here in Australia!!1 OME!! fantastic totally lived up to expectations...very beautiful..ohh...I'm going 2moz night as well!!
hated the hosts. anya marina ruined the telecast with her multitude of self-promotion and her little rude comments. I have no idea who the other guy was. wish myspace would've paid a real host to do the interviewing. I didn't bother watching the whole telecast, cause it took a long time for each interview to happen. luckily, I was able to see Rob's interview and that was enough for me.
I made my thoughts loud and clear on Anya's hosting. She only had about 100 words in her vocabulary- of which 80 of them consisted of self-promotion and annoyance of the audience (not to mention Gil Birmingham!). Overall the streaming crashed about 2 or 3 times, but I'm glad it didn't happen when Robert, Taylor, Nikki, Ashley, Kellan or Kristen were Live! I am not surprised at all by the record breaking numbers! 1 more day!! OMG!
I think most of us hated the host Anya she suckd bad. Would have enjoyed longer interviews with the cast, some were less than a minute. I know there was a bunch of stuff going on but they should have arrived a bit earlier. Just my thought on it. 1 Day left, let the freak out commence. :P
I completely forgot to watch it last night (I was cooking/eating dinner with the kids), but I loved the 8+ minute replay. It was perfect to watch without spending too much time on it. Heck, there is too much other footage going on right now to take so much time on just one video!!!
And Katie D... thank you for giving permission to start freaking out.
AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
