The soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: New Moon is now officially available for partial review on the official New Moon MySpace page.
One of the most hotly anticipated albums of the year, the New Moon soundtrack certainly delivers on its recent Entertainment Weekly grade "A" with its charismatic and vivid song inclusions.
Of course, you'd already heard Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" and Anya Marina's "Satellite Heart," but being able to sample songs like The Killers' "A White Demon Love Song" and the full "Roslyn" by Bon Iver and St. Vincent really helps to put things in perspective.
For the most part, it seems, the original songs contributed and compiled for this album amount to a delightfully moody playlist that echoes the sentiments offered in Stephenie Meyer's New Moon.
Other songs, like Sea Wolf's "The Violet Hour," bring to life another side of the New Moon story - appropriately, too, since it seems to be matched with the birthday scene.
Particularly fascinating is Thom Yorke (a prime selection for Chris Weitz)'s "Hearing Damage." Its lively and textural tune is very Bella-elemental, and it will be very interesting to see which portion (or portions) of the film Yorke's piece gets fitted with.
So, head on over to MySpace and check out the New Moon soundtrack!
