'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
One of the most anticipated casting announcements in the Twilight saga was that of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's "Leah Clearwater." After some speculation that the part might go to Vanessa Hudgens or Q'orianka Kilcher, it was announced that the part would be portrayed by Julia Jones.
Since then, Jones has completed filming of the Twilight saga's third portion, and she recently did an article feature with the Boston Globe, where she reflected upon Stephenie Meyer, the filming process, and her cast mates.
Jones stated that it was easier to fulfill the role of Clearwater than it has been for other roles, since "Stephenie Meyer wrote the layers" and "there’s 3,000 pages of detail."
Jones admitted to being a little starstruck by the Eclipse set, and she specifically mentioned the countenance of an on-set Stephenie Meyer.
“She’s kind of got this sort of God aura about her,’’ Jones says. “She lives up to it. She’s very anchored. She’s just this incredible authority and presence.’’
Similarly, Jones stated that she was impressed by her co-stars, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, for their abilities to handle the stress of being the headliners of this worldwide phenomenon.
Like many of the incoming cast members on the La Push end of the story, Jones took a walk down memory lane to the place where werewolves play, noting that she had become one of the wolfpack crew - jives and games though such status might entail.
Finally - and perhaps most interestingly - Jones revealed some insight into the near and coming future.
“Eclipse’’ doesn’t come out for five more months, but Jones has been warned that publicity starts soon. She’s trying to get herself ready for the madness - mall tours, meet-and-greets, and the obsessed, self-described “Twi’’-hards, who will be watching - and blogging - as she brings their Leah to life. Then there’s the fourth and final installment, “Breaking Dawn,’’ which Meyer has confirmed might be split into two movies filmed over the next few years.
