'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' - Summit Ent.
It was all but guaranteed that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse would be rated PG-13 (or at least aim to be so), and now the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has released its rating for the film, giving it the well-expected PG-13 for "intense sequences of action and violence, and some sensuality."
Box Office Mojo has an interesting piece of analysis as to how Eclipse's rating fares compared with Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
Both Twilight and New Moon were PG-13 as well, but for slightly different, and somewhat telling, reasons: Twilight garnered its rating due to "some violence and a scene of sensuality," while New Moon earned it for "some violence and action." Confirming what the most recent trailer suggested, Eclipse's rating indicates that the action quotient has been ramped up compared to the first two movies.
Anyone surprised at the rating? Or did it just confirm what you already suspected? Comment below with your thoughts!

Like SCUMit would have it any other way!
Personally, I'm not really surprised at the rating. It's just what I thought it would be.
Not surprised at all, in fact I'm relieved. Bring on the fight sequences! Also, "some sensuality..." that made me giggle ;)
No suprise here. :D
not suprised just hoping its for the action and not too much freaky sexual stuff cause there isnt a whole lot in this one... i expect breaking dawn to be rated R....for its sexual content
somebody tld me it was gunna be rated R so im not surprised
If you'll notice just about every movie that is being released is PG-13, as I hear there is a larger fee for rated R films so everyone is trying to stay in the PG-13 range. It all comes down to money in the end!!
f*****ing w*nkers why pg-13 why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want it R
yeah it BS f-n bastards!
Yeah, let's go for an "R" rating when the target demographic is females aged 13-25 years old. Summit would lose a huge chunk of money with an "R" rating because of who the movie caters to. Don't be surprised if Breaking Dawn(s) is/are PG-13 as well. They're in the business for money, folks, not to give the very few who wanted it an R rating. Where is Meyer's books has anything been R-related. Even when she describes the love scenes, there are avery little details. She leaves it to us to picture it in our heads...
I am just fine with the rating, and is what I was expecting.
well of course, i mean seriously, if they go to an R rating, they will lose 1/2 of their viewers. "supposedly" even though i know very few people under 18 that are really, really into it, there are more females over 25 that are interested.
Got something to say?
