'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' DVD - Summit Ent.
Last time the subject of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on DVD came up, things were a little confusing - especially when compared to information circulating the blogosphere and newswaves at present.
That's my doing, in a way, and I apologize.
Home Media Magazine had conducted an interview with a home entertainment representative of film studio Summit Entertainment, and they quoted him to say that there would not be varying editions of New Moon offered to the separate markets. This was interpreted here to mean that there would not be market exclusives like there were last year with the Twilight DVD.
However, this has since been explained to be a statement meant to exclusively apply to the availability of the Blu-Ray version of New Moon, not DVD. So, in other words, there still will not be market-specific versions of New Moon on Blu-Ray, but, as it has been seen over the past couple of days, there will be different versions of the DVD offered at varying stores.
As of now, while details are still limited as to what each store has to offer, this is what is on the table with the New Moon DVDs. Keep in mind that these are subject to change, of course.
Target
Target has a 3-disc deluxe edition DVD that comes with a "bonus collectible film cell." It includes "the 2 Disc Special edition plus a third disc of never before seen content." The two-disc special edition coverage includes "over 70 minutes of special features including: revealing feature length commentary with Director Chris Weitz and Editor Peter Lambert; a riveting 6-PART DOCUMENTARY that takes you behind the scenes (Part 1: Life After Twilight; Part 2: Chris Weitz takes the helm; Part 3: The Subtle Details; Part 4: Time to Shine; Part 5: Tricks of the Trade; Part 6: Ready for the World); Band Rehersal Footage with Muse; and Music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina, and Mute Math!" The specifics on the "bonus" content of the third disc are as yet unavailable for this product. You can keep an eye on it (or pre-order if you wish) here.

Walmart
Walmart has a two-disc anamorphic widescreen version of the DVD that includes all of the features listed in the above section about the two-disc special edition. Check their listing out here.

Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble has an exclusive edition of the DVD which includes all of the features of the two-disc special edition but also comes with the following: "This edition comes with a New Moon Dreamcatcher Bag Clip, a metal dangle finished in antique brass that combines a circular dreamcatcher, a sculptural Wolf Pack-tattoo charm, a Wolf Pack jewelry tag, feathers, and crystals." According to MTV, "There will also be a Fan Event Q&A with Rob, Kristen, Taylor and Chris — probably from Comic-Con or one of the Hot Topic tours, as well as a bit called "Fandimonium" with a look at the "Twilight" fan culture. There will be a "Team Jacob vs Team Edward" piece, some deleted scenes, introduction special features for the Volturi and Wolfpack, an Edward and Jacob "Fast Forward," special videos on Edward going to Italy and Taylor Lautner becoming Jacob, and finally a feature called "Frame by Frame: Storyboards to Screen."
Surely, as time progresses and the date of the film's release to home entertainment venues nears, more details will come.

Can anyone tell me please, did the Twilight BlueRay version contain all the material in the 2 disc DVD edition??

I saw on Costco.com they have the two disc set on preorder for $19.99, fyi!

Decisions, decisions. So it looks like Target gets my business...one Bluray and one triple disc DVD. Whew, it's expensive being a Twihard! Thanks for all the info Amanda. Oh ps I need the Forks DVD too. :)
I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray online. Should I of bought the DVD version instead or will the Blu-Ray have the same features?
Target had the best version the last time. I ordered the 3 disc copy thru Target. I'm waiting to see who's going to have a midnight party. That's where I'll get my Blue-ray copy.
I ordered the one from Target and Amazon. How different can the other ones be???
I will probably be standing in front of Target again this year as the door's open. I bought the triple disc last year and loved it and plus the third disc had the best features, I hope they give you a free digital download of the movie and features for iTunes like last year because if not I will have to buy it so I can put it onto my Iphone. I also got the double disc version the night before at a Hot Topic release party. If they have those again this year I guess I will be doing the same. :)

I actually fell in love with the Japanese version---so i preordered that one. And I also preordered the 3-disc Target version...now, I have to slow down on jumping on any offers until I see what is going to be the last of the absolutely "exclusive" versions!
