Scenes to watch for in 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'

Summit Ent.

Kristen Stewart's character Bella Swan will be the subject of many a plight in this year's film The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

A survey of the most fan-anticipated moments in the film revealed that the following scenes must make it into the film.

[ * Warning * if you haven't read New Moon, some of these items may serve as a spoiler ]

  • Bella's "Gram" dream: In the very first chapter of New Moon, Bella has a dream in which she comes across her grandmother and is nervous about introducing her to Edward Cullen - only it's not her grandmother. It is her. Bella was aging so fast that she was looking into a mirror and believed that she was looking at her Gram. Meanwhile, Edward Cullen remained the same. Bella's desire to become a vampire is somewhat solidified by this occurrence.
  • The "birthday" scene: It involves Bella unwillingly attending her own birthday party (a product of Alice Cullen's incessant, but lovable, party-planning-persona), getting a paper-cut and nearly being mauled by Jasper. Undoubtedly, this scene will be one of the more important ones for the film.
  • The "break-up" of Edward and Bella: After Jasper's near attack, Edward becomes estranged from Bella, and it is heart-breaking to her even then. The conversation between Bella and Edward which leads him to depart, to the fans, needs to be spot on. Gut-wrenching as it was in the book, so it must be in the movie. The disappearance of all things Edward must occur too - even the lovely CD.
  • The "catatonic" state: When Edward leaves, Bella is found speechless, motionless, covered in forestry goop (from chasing after Edward of course), and she remains in a cyclical state of emotional nothingness. Her interactions with Charlie (her father), her classmates, and with the world at large are robotic and worrisome. Literally emptiness passes through her life for months.
  • Hallucinations: Edward's voice chiming into shake Bella from her dangerous behavior? Gotta be in there.
  • Motorcycles: Enter Jacob Black and his mechanical skills ... not to mention Bella's motorcycle. Bella has a scheme to make Edward's voice return to her - get in as much danger as possible. This is when she gets to know and trust Jacob, and Bella is reintroduced to the world, at least in part. A significant bit of that part is in La Push - with the werewolves. The motorcycle sequences should also involve a major crash - one which Edward's voice has numbed Bella from truly feeling the pain from.
  • Werewolves: The werewolves, especially the russett one with friendly eyes, have to and undoubtedly will make a big appearance in the film.
  • Movie theatres: In several important scenes, a movie theater is involved. Particularly, fans want to see Mike Newton (as portrayed by Michael Welch) get a little green from a certain zombie flick. Afterwards, too, Jacob Black should be feeling a little un-well himself . . .
  • Cliff-diving: Bella needs to take that leap ... and so do the werewolves before her.
  • Black Mercedes: Alice's return is certainly in style, as Bella's heart races upon the sight of Carlisle's black Mercedes in the drive. That particular detail signifies the class and culture associated with the Cullens, and it'd be nice to see it make an appearance in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
  • Yellow Porsche: In style she remains as Alice Cullen takes a chance at "grand theft auto" in Italy with a nice yellow Porsche. Many fans want to see that particular detail in the film for sure.
  • The Volturi, Jane, and the Italian square: Volterra, to say the least, is a point of interest for future New Moon film goers.
  • The "vote": The final sequence in New Moon, fans say, should be brought to the big screen. Particularly, people want to see the Cullens speak the very lines they were given in the book.

Still, there were other scenes that were not in the book that readers want to see also. Like Rosalie's call to Edward on the outtakes or Edward's traipsing through South America (to keep him in more of the movie). Others disagree, saying keeping Edward at a distance is an important fact of the New Moon story. The viewers, like the readers, need to feel Bella's loss in his absence, some say.

In any case, there is a lot to look forward to in The Twilight Saga: New Moon if these sequences properly come to the big screen.

The Cullen home: This home is such a big part of the movie. In book two there's a birthday party there. It's going to be in ALL the movies. With the change of directors and locations, will the house look different? I sure hope not! That's one thing that was difficult about Harry Potter when they switched directors. Things just look too different. Thanks...

Someone may have mentioned it already, but I think it would be essential to see the showdown between the wolves and Laurent. It's a pretty pivitol moment in the story.

there are several things i would love to see in new moon.

the birthday scene is a must

the wolves! i cannot wait to see how they are going to be in the movie. however lovely real wolves may be in the book they just are not portrayed as this plan dog like beast. special effects are going to be key. they must be vicious yet kind. i cant wait for that!!!

the fight between laurent and the pack!

i also believe that the bonding between bella and jacob have to be in the movie. not only for the benefit of new moon but also for the movies of eclipse and breaking dawn.

the introductions to the other pack members are also key for the later movies!!

the cliff diving scene not only of just bella but of the boys so you can first see the confusion in bella's character. that will only make you more appreciate he need to do it her self so she can hopefully hear her beloved's voice one more time.

i think we must also see the pain and heartache in jacob when he realizes he will never be able to be her true love

there also needs to be the conversation between jacob and bella about imprinting

and i absolutely cannot wait for the bonfire scene and i'm hoping for flash backs so we can see the battle between the "spirit" dogs

we also NEED to see the pain and sorrow of losing Mr. Clearwater so that we can connect with not only Charlie but Leah and her lil brother as well.

I hope that the La Push clan is casted well because they truly are the foundation for new moon and bella's recovery!

I cant wait for alice to come back either!!

The italy scenes are hopefully going to be action packed. to me they have a "james bond" or the "transporter" feel to them. if the fight scenes and the driving scenes are directed right i really think that new moon will draw in more of a male fan base!!

i'm sorry but if any of the cullens are not played from the originals i'm afraid it will be to distracting for the viewers and true twilight freaks!

I have got to say that from what I have read I can not wait to see this new movie. I think that Bella adn Edward make a very good couple and i also think that Edward is the most gorgeus person that I have ever seen. I also can say that he takes my breath away.

I think Twilight was AWESOME, only except for the part when they left out the first kiss ( when they left the meadow), other than that, it was totally awesome....I hate Dakota Fanning..she should not be jane. other than that...I cant wait till New Moon!!!And i totally agree with Larissa!

    Where to start?
Twilight was good, but it could have been better! I dont think TWILIGHT fans would mind sitting an extra hour in the theatre...
I was upset that the 'blood typing' left out of Twilight.
Two parts of New Moon that madee me cry were:
When Edward leaves her in the woods...and
    The proposal...
I also would like to see the pain Edward goes through(even tho its not in the book) I think a lot of fans would like to see both sides of the story...
and I agree with 'Liz' they should keep the same cast throughout all four movies, it would just be wierd if they suddenly changed someone!

Oh and I dont think they should bring in anymore "big names"

I can't wait for New Moon!! I think the very important that really need to b in the movie are...
    Bella's dream on chapter 1
    The B'day
    When Edward Leaves her
The way she suffers & tries to put her self in danger just to hear his voice
When Laurent tries to attack bella, but the Pack saves her
Of course we have to see the wolves...they're a big part in this book
When Alice comes back to Forks
Italy scenes must be soo accurate
How Edward is feeling all this time they're apart
When the cullens take a vote to see who thinks Bella should become a vampire
    Jacob's suffering
Ooh...also Bella ripping the stereo out of her truck!!
I wouldn'tmind sittin an extra hour in the movies...as long as they do a better job in putting more of the book into the movie!! I loved Twilight, but I wish it would've had more of the scenes from the book!! And I think Bella should show a lil more emotion or feelings!! In the book it says how she feels like she's gonna pass out or short of breath, but in the movie she didn't do much of that!! But Robbert did show more emotion!!

Tuition: It is a deleted scene that can only be found on Stephenie Meyer's website! Bella goes to the bank and finds out that someone put an extra 20,000 dollars in it. She suspects that it is "of course" Edward, or one of the Cullens. So after the money keeps arriving at her house (after closing her bank account), she burns it for a few months. Then she drives up to the Cullen house and throws the package through a window.

When Edward and the rest of the Cullen's return Edward questions Bella about this.

I really want this part in New Moon.

I agree we need the birthday scene, Bella getting a paper-cut and nearly being mauled by Jasper, snapping teeth and all.
But I have a problem with how this is going to blend in with Jasper's last scene in Twilight.
I mean one minute he's dancing around a fire with Bella bleeding out from a main artery all over the floor just feet from him and he next scene its snapping teeth at dawn with a paper cut. I hope they find a way to explain his dramatic drop in self control. I remember Bella explains in the book that she wasnt as close to Jasper as she was during the time of james.
    But still... :/

dont forget the scene about when she goes into the meadow and almost becomes a meal.

and the one were she wakes up and thinks shes still in a dream.

please please stick to the book as much a possible i dont care how long the movie is.

you should include all the little main points from above from part one and part two in the movie.

if you dont its just going to be crap we need to see the love they had for each other, the break up, the friendship w/jacob, the cliff scene, alice come back, the flight to go get edward, and much more.

but please stick to the book.

Thank you to all that have mentioned Edward's marriage proposal. That and just really the last few chapters of the book where Edward gives Bella the truth of where he was and what he was doing. We really need to see and feel how Edward felt after the break up and what he was doing.

well, I definately think that they should put the birthday scene in
I also think that the scene when Alice steals the porsche should be in the movie! I love every part with alice, she is my fav. i even do my hair daily like her, well like Ashley Greene in the movie.
I think the part where bella is scared that Edward is going to leave her again after she and Alice "save" him.
The movie theater part with mike newton and Jacob is also way important,
and the part where Bella cliff dives without jacob there should be in there too!

I hope they show all the scenes that has all action and the most interesting parts. The movie can't be just as the book but just about similar just with all action and maybe some of the line's, i think to that's what made twilight the movie better than the book, i like the book but the movie was better so i hope they start from dream all they to scene when she goes to italy. I think that would make the movie GOOD!!! I mean and if you are a true twilight fan you would like the movie no matter what and plus if they did the movie word for word then it would be kind of boring.

Lonely day-system of a down: this would be perfect when she goes up to her room after sam finds her when she went into the forrest when edward when she is supost to go to "sleep" she falls on her knees and then hands and curls up in to a ball and it kinda shows you that she realises that shes alone....
Anna Nalick - Breathe:this song would be awesome when shes in her room and the hole in her chest is hurting again but she realises that she has become stonger for the pain even though it has not gone away....also when shes finnaly with edward again it would be a very romantic way to show how realived she is to be back with him...

    thats what i think anyway.

They need to show her dream about her grams. And show her unwillingness to celebrate her 18th birthday and why.
They cannot show Edward too much during the movie until it is needed only as flashbacks. Bella needs to feel her pain we need to feel it with her.
They need to show her emotions that she has when she gets the adrenaline rushes to bring back Edwards voice.
We need to see her start to feel the happiness with Jacob even though we do not like it.... because we like Edward...
Volturi Scenes have to be dead on. Aro smelling her hand, and the emotions that she has have to be shown.
We need to see her reaction to what Jane does to Edward.
Janes powers are unable to go therough her Shield. In the book the mention that Janes power do not effect Bella while they were in Volturi.
This is a crucial scene it leads up to the final book or movie.
If you read Breaking Dawn then you know Bella's Power when she becomes a Vamp.

I totally agree with the twilight fans' comments. Makenthe movie as long as you want. True twilight fans will love of I'm sure! You have to put the break-up, bella's reaction to the break-up, her relationship with jacob, the attack where she nearly is eaten, the cliff scene, the voice in her head, when alice comes, bells saving edward, the vote, the proposal, and much more! This book is so detailed you can't cut important parts! And you should totally stick with Taylor Lautner as jacob. He totally fits and the cast from the first movie is already a hit. You can't take or replace any of the characters!!

I just hope they don't focus primarily on Victoria and the Volturi and put more of the romance in. It seems like they tried to make the first movie more of an action flick than a romantic movie, dissapointing. Lets hope they do better this time.

I know that Chris said he was going to be staying as true to the book as possible but I can only hope that he keeps his word. I really did like the movie Twilight and it was easy to follow being a huge fan of the book series, but i felt that so much was missing from it that it made it difficult to follow if you had not read the book. I spent a lot of time trying to explain things to my mother after i took her to go see it.
So my only request is to stay true to the book and don't leave out important pieces. (AKA... the breakup, Bella becoming an outcast of her friends, her friendship with jacob, and especially the cliff dive and the other reckless things Bella does, "How opposed are you to grand theft auto?", the vote & "Marry me first." [those were the first few to come to mind])

  • bailey 2 years ago

chris said that he was going to stay as close to the book as possible and if that is true then a few things HAVE to be in the movie:-they have to watch romeo and juliet because it will show how used to each other they have gotten and how comfortable they are together after a whole summer
-she has to be unwilling to celebrate her 18th birthday and we need to know why... because this leads up to the party and how she slits her finger with jasper trying to attack her(the reason that edward leaves)
-they have to watch romeo and juliet because it will show how used to each other they have gotten and how comfortable they are together after a whole summer
-edward has to breakup with her in the woods and leave her there wandering around in the woods because this is the nightmare that she has every night
-sam uley has to find her because this is how jacob knows how terrible she looked and later shows edward in eclipse
-edward's voice has to come into bella's mind andbring her out of her "haze" because it leads her to being reckless
-bella has to find the bikes and ask jacob to fix them because this is how there friendship grows
-jacob has to fix them and help her learn how to ride them because when he takes her to the place to ride them she discovers cliff diving and the wierd things going on with sam uley
-bella has to find out that jacob is a werewolf because that is how she is protected from laurent and victoria
-bella has to cliff dive because that is what alice has a vision of and why she comes back(to help charlie because she thinks bella is dies)
-harry clearwater has to die because this is the reason that jacob says that charlie is at the funeral when edward calls and thinks that he is talking about bella's funeral which is the reason that he decides to go to the vultori
-bella has to go to italy and save edward of course and all of the volturi have to be themselves(caius:rude, aro:very happy, and marcus:bored)
-when they get home, edward and bella have to go to the house and the family has to give their vote on whether or not bella becomes a vampire
-edward has to say that he will turn her himself if she marries him first
    - AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, THEY HAVE TO SAY "i love you" SOMEWHERE IN THIS MOVIE!!!

I think Twilight was very hard to make because it serves as sort of an introduction(who is who, the relationships, the conflicts etc.) and I believe that Catherine Hardwick did a very good job on that. Certainly, we as Twilight Fans would have loved to see our all time favorite parts from the book and so the movie being longer but we must consider that Summit couldn't even have predicted the way fans embraced the movie and they were literally taking a risk with it since it was also a low-budget production. And we all know that making a book into a film means "CUTTING" and "CHANGING" despite all the hurt, right? E.G. I read that ppl thought showing Victoria at the prom was wrong but I have to say that I totally disagree. That scene served as a cliffhanger in my opinion; meaning the problems are not over and just about to start. Also many ppl watch it without having read the Saga, so it's really tough to shrink the whole plot of Twilight to a 2-hrs movie and satisfy both parties-the readers and the "newcomers"!!! But enough about Twilight. Let's get to New Moon. Personally, I think there are two scenes that Chris Weitz just HAS to NAIL and they are, 1.the Break-up and 2.the Volturi scene-actually the whole Italy part.

Ok, ok, ok everytone is giving their favorite story line from "New Moon", but Chris Weitz, God gave you a gifted talent to directed, so go for it! I believe whatever scene from the book "New Moon" you decide to present (in the best way to please the fans and as close to the book)I have FAITH, that your best work will be shown and appreciated (once again). I believe you are going to have a chance of a lifetime to show your God gifted talent with this movie and with the outstanding cast that God put together to present such an OUTSTANDING book from the author. Have FUN with this and go to the "sky is the limit". Peace and blessings. I wish I had the opportunity to work with such wisdom. Enjoy.
