Ryan Reynolds, who recently starred with The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Kristen Stewart in Adventureland, whose film X-Men Origins: Wolverine just opened in theatres this Friday, and who is married to Iron Man 2 star Scarlett Johansson, has a small group of Twilight fans (see here) swooning for him to take a spot in the book-to-film translation of Stephenie Meyer's fourth Twilight series book Breaking Dawn.
These fans say that Reynolds would be absolutely perfect for the small, but significant, role of Garrett, the wandering nomad who comes to the side of the Cullens in their time of need.
Jolly, olive-skinned, and observant, Garrett's character is [*spoiler*] a sort of speech-giving savior to the Cullens in Breaking Dawn with the Renesmee situation. Standing up to the Volturi, this somewhat messy wanderer has to use his words to save the day.
With Reynolds, we all know that he is a fast-talking, speech-wielding know-it-all type in most of his films, but he can also pull of some rather intense scenes as well.

Wow- I think he'd be a great Garrett!
Ryan would be a good choice. He was in this month's Men's Health and seems to be a general good person with a phenomenal workout ethic. I also think that either of the Winchester boys (Supernatural) would make good candidates. They were who I first thought of when I started wondering who would make good Volturi (Jared as Felix was the way I thought it would go). But I think casting did good with everybody they picked so far. I am most excited to see what Dakota will be able to do as Jane. I see her as the most talented young actress of her generation.
Note to readers, if you're not watching Supernatural, you're missing the best TV Show on the air right now. But you can't start in the middle, you gotta watch it from the beginning. There have been 4 seasons building up to the current 5th season, and it's *ALL* important to the plot line. Just amazing work...

As soon as I saw the headline I thought, "he'll probably play Garrett". Perfect. You've seen him play funny roles, to serious roles, to scary roles... this guy can do it all and I think he'd play a great Garrett.

all I saw was 'Ryan Reynolds' on the headline and immediately thought "GARRETT!!!" He would be sooooo perfect for the part!
I don't know- he seems to "pretty boy" to me. Garrett seemed more rugged. Someone with a beard, messy hair, older, like Kevin Costner or Hugh Jackman.

ok, garrett wasnt old, none of the vampires are (looking anyways) and ryan reynolds is a very good actor and can pull off a beard and messy hair of a nomad really good!!! watch the nines! its a weird movie but it shows his acting skills and ability to do grungy well.

Ahh I love him! I don't know how well he would fit with the other actors that have been cast in Twilight and New Moon, but based on what I've seen of him so far, he seems like a good actor. And, he's hot. Win, win! :)

I love him indepentently. However as a lover of the saga in the book form I must say that having actors which are a tad less exposed in roles like Reynolds I believe will be more benefical to the stories. no offense Ryan but when I see you in something it's difficult for me not to see past the fact that your Ryan Reynolds, rather than the character your playing.

I agree its something to consider. He is a very durable actor and I am pretty sure he could pull it off. Yes he is hot, but lets look to his skill rather than his appeal. Garret would suit him perfectly.

DEFINITELY!!! Garrett is one of my favorite non-Cullen vampires, and quite possibly my absolute favorite. I think Ryan would be perfect. Plus his hot bod helps. ;)
OMFG!!!!!! he would be perfect for Garrett!!! i really really really really hope that they end up making the fourth book into a movie... it would be hard, like stephenie meyer has said, with the whole renesmee aging so quickly, but i think somehow summit could pull it off.
they also need the perfect people to play the Denali vamps... and the amazons... and the egyptians... and the irish... and especailly the romanians!
