Robert Pattinson to present at London telethon for Haiti relief!

Robert Pattinson in 'Remember Me' - Summit Ent.

Great news! The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Remember Me star Robert Pattinson has been confirmed, according to E! Online, as a host for a London-based branch of the Hope for Haiti telethon on Friday!

George Clooney and Wyclef Jean joined together to organize the campaign, which now features a very all-star line-up of celebrity volunteers, for relief of victims of Haiti's recent earthquake.

Of course, you'll remember that Robert Pattinson's fans help to spearhead some social media efforts being put forth, and, also, Robert Pattinson's Twilight castmates were actively using Twitter to provide information on how to chip in.

Now, it seems, Pattinson will be answering a few London calls to raise money for the cause.

"As of right now, it looks like Rob will be the sole presenter in London with performances by Jay-Z and Bono," says E! Online's Marc Malkin. "No word yet on Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, but ... Hollywood's hottest vampire movie trio is a very wanted group for the telethon because of the impact they would have with young people." Too true.

How about that?!

UPDATE: Here are a few more details about the telethon, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly: "Clooney’s rep says the telethon is now set to air on all of the MTV channels worldwide, along with ABC, NBC, HBO, and CNN. The show will air 8-10 p.m. ET."

UPDATE: Gossip Cop is reporting the following: "[Kristen] Stewart would love to be involved, but will be occupied at the Sundance Film Festival and unable to participate."

Sweet! I hope Kristen & Taylor will participate, too.
It would be awesome because, they would really have a big impact.
Anyway, I'm sure Rob will already have a huge impact alone.
    We are proud of you!

These celebs have soo much money..they live like royalty..are they actually going to donate any money themselves or they just taking the exposure to make themselves look good? I'm sorry but my yearly income is a quarter of what these guys make in a day. There is no reason why these guys can't help financially with releif efforts themselves. This is all they're doing is donating their time no offence why bother? I'd rather just donate my money to the redcross these guys can go back to living their lives.....

Good for Rob. Would love to see Taylor and Kristen involved too. That's sad that the only have one star in the U.K. to help out. Lots of people are donating already without being told by stars but there are some superficial few that DO need the pressure from movie stars to motivate them.

Very pleased that Rob and the other celebs are using their clout and media attention to help others. I'm sure all of them have also given personally.

Celeb fund raisers/telethons are nothing new so I don't see why some are complaining but whatever. If the celebs weren't doing anything these same negative nellies would be complaining about that! Must be great living in that glass house of yours, be careful of the stones though...
