Just when the figures for The Twilight Saga: New Moon were thought solidified to a stellar showing, the film went and outdid itself again. New numbers on The Twilight Saga: New Moon's opening weekend have come down - giving the film that needed no boost even more of an impressive weekend showing.
According to the Associated Press, the weekend did not end with a domestic intake of $140.7 million as previously reported, but rather $142,839,137. That figure comes in from 4,024 locations (at $35,497 average per location).
Internationally, according to Nikki Finke, The Twilight Saga: New Moon brought in $132.1 million from 6,672 shows in twenty-four locations. According to that report, even more numbers are still coming in from the international markets.
That puts the grand total at $274,939,137 and counting, up from the $258.8 million estimate issued earlier.
Wowza!
Even film studio Summit Entertainment had to issue thanks for this weekend's showing (via Twitter).
To the greatest & most supportive fans in the world, a heartfelt THANK YOU for making New Moon #1 across the world this weekend!

I knew the movie would be a success and it was!! It was amazing, I watched it twice the midnight one and the 2 days after...I will be seeing it again!! breath taking, and I will buy it when it comes out on dvd, Can't wait for eclipse on June 30th 2010!!
The movie was fantastic! It really stayed true to the book with only a few "tweeks" (which were so good, you really didn't care). Usually the books are so much better than the movie, but I found I really enjoyed this movie, just as much as the book. I will definitely see it again (more than twice) and will buy the DVD when it comes out. To bad we have to wait so long for Eclipse...Can't wait.
Can't Beat Modern Warfare 2!!!
