Fandango has just announced that The Twilight Saga: New Moon has already surpassed its own predecessor Twilight in advance ticket sales.
New Moon now ranks fourth in overall advance ticket sales numbers, and presently represents 75% of Fandango's ticket sales.
Here are some of the statistics offered by Fandango's report.
The Top 5 Advance Ticket-Sellers on Fandango (as of November 12, 2009) are as follows:
1.Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
2.Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
3.The Dark Knight (2008)
4.New Moon (2009)
5.Twilight (2008)
According to a recent Fandango survey of more than 2,000 New Moon ticket-buyers, the first Twilight movie helped fuel the fan frenzy that has carried over to the other installments in the series:
•55% said the first Twilight movie inspired them to read all the books by Stephenie Meyer.
•51% plan to see New Moon more than once in the theater.
•61% said they have read the novel New Moon more than once.

Definitely not a surprise!! I bought mine as soon as they hit Fandango's site for Dallas, TX! About 3 days after I kept checking back myself did I even get the email telling me they were now available for my area! lol I plan to watch more than once in theatres myself, that's for sure! I already want the DVD to come out!

I too kept checking back with Fandagos site. I had never purchased from that site before as i am sure that many new comers are getting from there also. I am excited! Cant wait i plan to see it more than onece also.
I would love to know the exact number of presale tickets were sold to each of the top 3 and a running total of NM sold. That way we could track how it is going before next week!
Bought mine way back in September and you can bet I will be seeing it at least 2 maybe 3 times! Then the wait till the DVD comes out! (maybe a visit to the discount theater a couple of times too!)
ya luckly i bought my tickets in september on fandango b/c now there SOLD OUT in my area
