Twilight and New Moon star Kristen Stewart has certainly been through it lately, hasn't she? The subject of unending ridicule from various sources (including one which tactlessly used profanities in describing her personality - see here), whilst her success-o-meter skyrockets, Kristen Stewart deserves a positive news week this week (and fans hope that she'll get it).
In the place of various quips about her hair-do, the story this week should and hopefully will be that her latest film, Adventureland, is hitting the theaters this week, April 3 to be specific, and is being met with much anticipation by her fans.
The film, in which Kristen plays a wayward introvert who is the unlikely capturer of the heart of a want-to-be traveler stuck in what the film tag states to be "the worst job . . . ever imagined" which becomes "the best time of [the characters'] lives."
In a recent interview with Movies Online (see here), Kristen was asked whether she knew anyone like her character in Adventureland, Em Lewin, and she answered "I never met a terribly introverted and damaged girl at a theme park in the '80's." And she said she wasn't funny... Going on, when Kristen was speaking of her character and how she related to Em, she said "I like characters that are written that are whole, that doesn't feel like…[where] it's easy to tell what would be right and wrong and how they would feel about something because they're very defined."
Fans look forward to seeing Kristen in this fun and unique role, citing her diversity and strength as an actress. The coverage on Adventureland, thus far, did include a stab at Kristen about her wardrobe choices at the premiere (see here), but let's hope that Kristen's week is not riddled with criticism (at least not nonconstructive, unfounded, and unnecessary criticism).

I am not going to see this movie. I love the Twilight books and Rob Pattinson as Edward, but Amanda you have to admit, Kristin Stewart's acting leaves alot to be desired. And she is arrogant and ungrateful. You can tell in most of her interviews. I am not a fan of hers. Sorry.
What the hell PGS Kristen is great in every movie she does she is a great actress. She doesn't like interviews she gets nervious and so would a lot of people. Im totally going to she this movie!!!

How come anyone doubts Kristen's acting? Have you seen other movies with her besides Twilight? The most annoying thing is when people lack information and leave ridiculous comments. I mean, watch 'Speak', 'The Cake Eaters', 'Into the Wild' (all movies in which Kristen is appraised by critics). Plus, the fact that she is different, more intelligent and more natural than the typical 'hollywood actress' makes me admire her even more. Every normal person will see from her interviews how deeply she understands her characters and how devoted she is to every single role she has ever played. The way she talks about her characters is much better than the way most actresses do - with fake smiles and 'learnt-by-heart' responses. 'Adventureland' is a must for me!!!!!!!!!!!
Kristen is an amazing actress she's not arrogant and ungratful she's truthfull and thats something alot of actors lack they say what people want to hear but kristen speaks the truth and that i give her the upmost respect for i cant wait to see adventurland and any other movies she comes out with :D:D:D....PS to all kristen stewart haters twilight wouldnt be twilight with out Miss stewart WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TEAM KRISTEN/BELLA :D

I never understand the need for people to be mean towards someone they don't know personally. However, thank you for another great article. The hate just seems to roll of her, the more people hate her, the more her fans will love her. People can't deal with the fact the she knows who she is, stands by her convictions and speaks her mind. Can't wait to see the movie.
Why am I not surprised that the first person to leave a comment is someone who is not even fan of hers but feels the need to spread the hate.
You know honestly I've tried to sit down and think of two other actors in that age group who might have been better as Bella and Edward and you know what I can't come up with a single one. I know that many will disagree with me but before you do, think honestly, you can't put someone else in Edwards role just because you have a crush on an actor whom you think is "cuter". Although that is part of it, bringing Edward to life is about so much more then just looks. Rob brought all of Edwards pain and conflict to the role and that is why he is the perfect Edward.
What actress, other then Kristen, could really play Bella that wouldn't bring some kind of ditzy quality to her character? I simply can't think of any. And as for her acting ability you could try watching some of her other films, I actually think that she is a very good actress - she brings an amazing maturity to every role that she plays and she is only 18 years old. That's pretty impressive. I think that they have both done fabulous jobs and to hold up under the vulture's candor of the media is in itself a truly commendable feat.
I am a huge Kristen fan, and I am psyched for Adventureland!!! It's been a Kristen-filled month between the release of another of her films, The Cake Eaters, not to mention the Twilight DVD!!! And there are still 2 more of her films to be released this year, and at least two next year! WOOO!!!

Kristen Stewart is awesome and this film will be good. her facial expressions are so strong, love it. She is not the typical Hollywoodster. She is truthful, Forward, and Honest. I love the interviews of her, she is hilarious. The questions they ask her are always repeated, that's prob really annoying for her as an actress. I would get agitated. Can't wait to work with her. Talent rules the world.
She's got a very dry sense of humor, but she definitely has one. She goes to work and does her job and she does it well. She is also a whopping 18 years old, people need to remember not everything that came out of their mouths as 18 was a pearl of wisdom. People need to relax.
I've been fortunate enough to see a pre-screening of the movie and Kristen is fabulous! She shows a great range and I think people will appreciate the film.

Kristen deserves all the bad publicity and ridicule she receives. She has no time for fans, can't act, and doesn't have a dry sense of humour, she doesn't have any sense of humour, she is plain rude.
People like this Suzee will always find a way to hate on someone even when all the facts point that Kristen is amazing - all fans who have ever met her say she is a nice person (a FACT) and all smart people respect her for her work (a FACT). Hatred can only make people even more miserable.

Im not saying that I dont like Kristen, but sometimes in the interviews it seems like she is either not enjoying them (who would) or really annoyed that she has to waste her time with them. I like her acting and her character, but as a person I dont think anyone knows her well enought to judge. Though she does give a bad vibe when she is getting interviewed
