Last week, it was announced that The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Kiowa Gordon (Embry Call in the Twilight saga films) would portray Brad in Into The Darkness.
This fledgling actor has started out his career in films on a good foot with the Twilight series and brings his new-found fame to Darkness, a film co-written "by local residents [of Tennessee] Jade and Paul Moser." According the Southern Standard, if filming schedules allow, Gordon will begin his work on Darkness in May, 2010, just before the premiere of Eclipse. The film's release is expected in March, 2011.
Southern Standard quotes Kiowa Gordon as follows:
When I was younger my mom was an actress and I would always tag along with her on her films . . . I didn't start getting into my own films until about 10 months ago when I was offered the part in 'New Moon.'
The film is one that is quite in on the world of modern social networking, as it boasts both a Facebook and MySpace page.
According to its MySpace page, the film's description is as follows:
A group of friends descend upon a remote wilderness area to camp and party reuniting after a year apart. Their decision to embark on a short exploration of an unknown cave system turns into a horrific struggle for survival. Can they find the light before the darkness finds them?
The Southern Standard states that the Mosers went ahead with producing a trailer for the film in anticipation of it being picked up by a more financially equipped production company.
“We just got through filming the trailer for ‘Into the Darkness,’” Jade said. “That’s basically what the trailer is for is to get it out to distribution companies, and in turn, the distribution company will give us enough money to finish out the film. They’ll get a percentage of the profits back for marketing and the money they put into the film.”

Once the post-production work is completed on the trailer, it will be sent out to a variety of film distribution companies and the Mosers hope to hear something back by early next year as far as financing and distribution.
Perhaps the enthusiasm of Gordon's Twilight fans will come in handy in this regard.
