First 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' soundtrack contender?

Photo: Hatchette Books

You've heard plenty about how The Twilight Saga: New Moon's soundtrack formulation involved the attempts by many fledgling artists to get on the album with their New Moon-inspired music (some of which, by the way, fans were and remain extremely in favor of). So, now that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is next on the to-be-released roster, it might not surprise you to hear about an up-and-coming group that was vying for a spot on the sure-to-be-a-success album for the film.

Well, take two steps ahead instead of one - surprised yet? Apparently, the first band showing interest in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has already made its way to the surface by issuing this video (with accompanying acting - whether up to par for the saga or not).

The band is apparently called "Hot Lava," and according to The State newspaper, it's "a Columbia band that wants to have the theme song for the fourth film."

Thoughts?

UPDATE: A representative from "Hot Lava Monster," the band originally cited as the creator of this project, has reached out with the following information about the video:

The video "The Rocumentarian presents the entire Twilight Series to Hot Lava Monster's 'Some Call It Hell'" was independantly produced by a group called The Rocumentarian in conjunction with community high school students. Hot Lava Monster granted The Rocumentarian permission to use "Some Call It Hell" for their project, however they do not appear in the video and were not involved in the production of it. Hot Lava Monster is very grateful to the cast and crew for the kind gesture of including "Some Call It Hell" and the effort they put forth in the video's production.

I agree, the music was pretty good, but the acting was obviously not professional. On the other hand... they got 30+ people to reinact Breaking Dawn. It was actually not bad for college students!

Yeah, I think it's a good song, but possibly the tone is wrong for the story. On it's own, it's pretty good though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That video is ridiculous. And so is the band. There's no way they would be considered for the lead track. The acting sucks by the way. ha.

Ummmm, it was a decent song but not good enough for the lead track. I am suggesting "Starlight" by Muse... It is PERFECT for Breaking Dawn!!! =-p

Hey Everyone! Check out this song I wrote for Twilight Saga fans....as I'm a HUGE one. :-) Breaking Dawn is my favorite book, and I can't seem to put it down. The song is written from Bella's point of view. It's about the part where the Cullens and their witnesses are gathered in the clearing awaiting the Volturi's advance, and Bella realizes what her shield can do, up until the point where the Volturi leave.

Hope you like it!!!!! Please help me spread the word!!
