Fans review 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'

After seeing The Twilight Saga: New Moon a second time - yes, juxtaposed with hundreds of other fans in line at the midnight screening - the compulsion arose to hear from Twilight fans . . . as I stick to my original review (and, actually, care to offer Alexandre Desplat and Chris Weitz another compliment with the bubbly score piece associated with the Volturi sequences).

Requests were sent for Twilight fans from all walks of the world to submit their own personal reviews and favorite scenes from the film. Here is what a few of them had to say.

“This was all about the girls delivering. Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene, Anna Kendrick, and Dakota Fanning all brought their characters to life …” Angie

“My favorite parts were the little bits of added humor… Emmett gushing about having installed the stereo. Jasper starting to wish Bella a ‘Happy … nevermind.’” Karen

“I loved that … they finally said something about Jaspers mood control ability.” Anonymous

“The breakup scene was so sad, I knew it was coming but I didn't want it to. Really was the best movie of the year by far. I am off to see it AGAIN!” Caroline, Dublin

“I'd have to say my favorite scene was when Bella ran into Edward’s arms under the clock tower. When he realized that he wasn't dead and he had to be with her.” Casey, Minnesota

“I liked that they added in some funny parts as well, like the movie theater scene about "punch face" Hilarious! The cheesiest part was when Jake jumped through Bella's window and when they were running in the woods through Alice's mind … My favorite scene was when Jake and Bella's lips were practically touching in the kitchen when Edward called. I'm team Jacob so that was so close for her.” Lacey

“The whole movie is really really good!” Brisa, Texas

“The parts I love most are those about warewolves, their transformations are fantastic!” Dani, Italy

“The best two parts weren't in the book... It was the other side of Jacob's phone conversation with Edward, his reaction to the news of "bella's" death! INCREDIBLE and surprising... And Aro seeing Alice's vision of vampire Bella!! OMG! I couldn't believe they did that! They kept it a secret too, we never knew what scene was the picture from! … Charlie coming in every time to comfort her when she had her nightmares as opposed to what happened in the book. I loved that! Billy deserved that time on screen! And Mike Welch... he owned his scenes!” Paula

“My favorite moment had to have been the movie scenes where Bella goes to Jacob's house for the first time and you start to see how they interact with each other. He's so confident in New Moon and it just adds that perfect touch of humor for such a dark time for Bella in the movie.” Amber

“The movie date with Jacob & Mike. Everything was like I imagine! Mike Welch is a great comedian.” Maria, Argentina

“The movie was amazing, everything was perfect, and it just gets better and better.” Nikki
“I consider [Taylor Lautner] a serious actor now. It took pure talent to pull this movie off and his dedication to the Jacob Black role and his body type was flawless.” Krysta, New Jersey

“I loved the idea of Bella sending e-mail to Alice, I loved the way in which Chris Weitz represented the pass of the months after the separation...” Fabiana, Italy

“I find that Chris Weitz and all the actors did an amazing job, Robert Pattinson as always gets to portray Edward suffering perfectly, Taylor has really improved and is incredible how everybody gave his soul for this movie.” Patricia, Italy

“There was a perfect amount of comedy, and Kristen did AMAZING! She really captured Bella's despair and agony. It was just as I pictured it would be when I read the book! And Michael Sheen was awesome as Aro! Perfect! This will definitely be one to see again and again! I look forward to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (come on, after that movie, you know they will green-light it!).” Kallin, Iowa

"I especially loved the scene were Bella visits Jacob and spots his pack. Then she confronts Paul and it ends up with Paul and Jacob transforming into their wolf selves and fighting each other …” Stephanie

“My favourite scenes are … the little gag made by Charlie with Bella about the grey hair, cute light hearted moment between them which won't happen again throughout the movie … The break-up scene between Edward & Bella. I was stunned by Kristen's performance, not that I ever thought she was mediocre … The scene of the 3 months passing by. Chris is a genius in shooting that moment that way & I guess we can thank Melissa R for writing it … Victoria being chased by the werewolves in the forest...how awesome is that shot!? Beautiful … So here’s to Eclipse!” Melinda

“It was amazing, much better than Twilight, they really did the book justice.” Rosalind

“Dakota Fanning portrayed Jane very well, when people didn't think she could pull it off. And, The ending just made us thirsty for more.” Brenda

“My favorite part was seeing the wolf pack for the first time. I was worried when I saw the Twilight wolf flashback but it was just as I imagined them when I was reading the book. Very impressed!” Anonymous

“The music was very well suited. I think that Taylor and Ashley played their roles very well …” Courtney

“I am in sweet Twilight heaven. As far as book adaptations go, this movie did not dissapoint. I felt as though every single page was translated onto the screen, and I did not feel as though anything was missing. The irony of this whole experience is that i walked out of the theater no longer Team Edward. Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart were AMAZING, and i had never ever felt such a chemistry between those two in the books, but they pulled it off remarkably in this movie. Their break up scene was far better than the break up scene between Bella and Edward.” Krystal

“If I had to pick something that really stands out I would have to say the fight between Jacob and Paul, or watching the pack take down Laurent, or watching Jakes fur as he stood on the cliff after chasing Victoria …” Collette, United Kingdom

“I like the scene set to Hearing Damage - with Victoria stalking Charlie and Harry (he cracks me up) and the wolves trying to get her. It was so well done and a really nice surprise. And I also loved the last scene in the forest, with Bella, Edward and Jacob. That made me fall in love with Jacob's character, it pulled at my heart strings to see the wee tear welling up in his eye.” Karen

SPOILER: “I believe my favorite part is the ending where Edward asks Bella to marry him and it cuts off. This just leaves us wanting more!! It is going to be a long 7 months before Eclipse.” Miranda, California

“One of my favorite parts was how they showed the passing of time after Edward left.” Liz

SPOILER: “My most favourite part of New Moon was definitely the part where they showed Bella as a vampire. In the book, it doesn't go into any detail when Alice shows Aro her visions. To see it in the movie was amazing.” Emily, New Zealand

“Alice, oh oh Alice. She was so much more developed in this go around. Most definite favorite scene is her reaction (well, expression is a better word i guess) at the vote to Jasper's response. It's one of the first times you see the southern charm she is attracted to and her reaction is spot on.” Melanie

“The fight between Felix and Edward was amazing.” Desiree

    This is the best review by far.

    By: RobPattz_Wifey - NMM.org

    I loved a lot and FELT short changed/diappointed on a few things. All in all I liked it a lot. Maybe I'll love it after seeing it a few more times in the theater. I am happy about that bc I think it maybe one of those films that need to be watched a few times, for one to really get the opportunity to appreciate all it offers.

    Things I Loved:

    -B & E's love for each other is portrayed so well in this film. I felt their love in times of togetherness and in the time apart.

    --- Anna Kendrick! Kudos to her impromptu dialogue. LOVE IT! She was Hella funny,

    --- The Victoria chase scene. WOW. That was one of my top 3 favorite parts in the movie. I loved how she was stalking the humans and then running from the wolves. Super cool!-- "Hearing Damage" was playing during the scene and made it even more awesome for me...

    So I saw the midnight screening.....it wasn't knock-your-socks-off amazing but it was pretty good. Although it was the book to the T, with only a few minor changes and it was better then Twilight!! All in all....very good!! Maybe I need to see it again.

    Okay, I'm not a die-hard 'Twilight' fan, just a moviegoer. But I did get up early this morning to see it.

    I thought the first movie was really good. I liked this one okay, but if it had been the starting point of the series, it probably would not have motivated me to come back for more.

    For me at least, Taylor Lautner does not have amazing screen chemistry with Kristen Stewart, while Robert Pattinson does. (Screen chemistry btw has nothing to do with acting ability. Lautner is fine. It's more of an intangible thing.) At any rate, the lack of chemistry means that the love triangle, for me, lacks dramatic tension. Jacob never stands a chance. I also didn't like the over-the-top performance of the Volturi actors.

    The wolves looked noticeably CGI to me... and sometimes cheesily CGI. But yeah, the scene of the wolves chasing Victoria was great.

    I thought the first movie was amazing. This one was okay. I'll come back for the third, but that's mostly on the strength of the first.

    i really loved the movie, but i felt like they went through the scenes really fast. Also in some parts the acting was horrible. the only parts that i really liked where of course all the funny scene, and the biggining with Edward, and the ending with edward. Also the graphics where awesome.

    AWESOME! A million times better than Twilight! I almost wish Chris Weitz could now redo Twilight and bring it to its full potential, the way it should have been done. I was amazed! All the actors brought their characters to life. Loved the Voluturi scenes the best. Aro was perfectly portrayed. Absolutely loved the B&E vampire vision from Alice, I think it conincided with Bella's Anne of Green Gables vision of themselves. Loved it! This movie kicked a**! Going to go see it again with the girls on Sunday! Can't get enough of those abs on Jacob!

    Favourite scene? Definetely Bella and Edward's hug under the clock tower...but I feel nothing I'll say can express the feelings of watching on the big screen one of the BEST FILMS OF THE DECADE....the images created in my head while reading the book couldn't be better portrayed...a greek "BRAVO" to the director and all the cast...omg, the thirst for more is never ending!!!

    I really enjoyed it. I was so happy with what CW gave us. Although I was disappointed that it didn't follow the book 100%, it didn't matter in the end. I was so happy that 95% of the lines in the movie were pulled from the book. The funny scenes were actually funny... not a silly line like "butt-crack Santa" (ugh), but funny lines from Emmett, "Dating an older woman? Hot." to Alice, "I'll be back, as soon as you let the dog out." to Jasper (twice), "Happy....nevermind," and "I vote yes. It will be nice to not want to kill you all the time." Jeez! I was laughing as much as I was crying! I was just so happy with the end result. I was so happy that CW and Melissa Rosenberg (who redeemed herself!) knew that a movie this dark needed some humor to keep it appealing. My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SCENE (OF COURSE!) was the very end. Jeez. "Marry me." Bella's face is stuck and end movie! I couldn't deal with it! Great job making me not want to wait for June!!!!

    Exceptional job, cast, crew, & Chris!

    I have read all the books a few times, and I thought the first movie was COMPLETELY horrible. I hated it in every way. New Moon is totally different. It was amazing and I loved every second of it. Kristen Stewart did an AMAZING job. I believe the director and the budget they had for the second film is what made it so much better. I was very disappointed in how Catherine Hardwicke portrayed Twilight. Chris Weitz did an ubelievable job... so excited for Eclipse now! :)

    I just loved the movie! It was AMAIZING! Chris knew how to portrait SO many emotions at the same time that it was wonderful!
    One moment I was sad and then happy and the laughing and then shocked!
    The scene were Edward calls being in South America to know about Bella's death... OMG! Robert Pattinson's face was SO heart-breaking! I wanted to cry! AMAIZING!
    The idea about Bella imailing Alice was genious! cause' we got the chance to get into Bella's head just like in the book!
    Best movie of the year! I could watch it a 10000 times and never get bored! =)

    Loved it! Well-placed comic relief, great special effects and action scenes, amazing costumes, awesome music, and heartfelt characterizations. I've already seen the movie a couple of times and would admit that I liked it even better after the second time, so I'm definitely watching it a few more times. Hard to choose a favorite scene: Edward reciting Romeo's lines foreshadowing his feelings upon hearing of Bella's death; when Jacob takes his shirt off; the fight between Jacob and Paul as werewolves (I thought I was watching two real dogs fighting); when the werewolves tore Laurant apart; when Bella sees Victoria under the water before she goes unconscious and then sees Edward's face; when Bella stops Edward at the clock tower and he realizes they are both alive and kisses her; Edward's expression when Jane summons them; Edward's fight with Felix to save Bella... I got it - when Edward proposes to me (I mean, Bella)

    I LOVED the movie!!! I could go on and on, but I'm only allowed 1000 characters so I'm going to try to keep this short and to the point (something that's very difficult for me to do, especially for something I feel so strongly about). anyway, I've seen the movie twice now (and plan to see it as many more times as I can afford), and I seriously thought it was PERFECT. just PERFECT. Chris Weitz did the most AMAZING job ever, I could go on and on about all the things he did right, and the acors/actresses--every single one--were all amazing and absolutely PERFECT in their roles. Seriously, this movie stayed remarkably close to the book while making only changes that were necessary/improved the film. Chris Weitz did a perfect job and I literally could not be happier. I loved Twilight, but honestly there was SO much stuff that could have been improved upon. not so in this movie. Chris Weitz for Breaking Dawn all the way!!

    People came expecting it to be as exciting as Twilight. I can bet a lot went away disappointed as I was. It is is love story, but this was so chopped up you would not know what it was. Bella really looked like she was happy to see Edward (I think the term is cold fish???). The director was absorbed in the special effects he forget about the story. Where is Ms. Hardwick? I bet Eclipse will be a doozy too. No romance, no warmth, no nothing!!!!!!!!! I feel cheated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Storyline-All the necessary parts were told, but the editing didn't transition well for me.

    Breakup-RP did WELL!. Blazer was too dark for his skin and it made him look older. Wanted Bella to show more perplexed devastation with intense crying.

    Jacob/Bella-Their relationship was developed, but not enough that I could see her dependence on him and his love grow for her. Taylor Lautner was AMAZING! When an actor can use very subtle reactions to express such intense emotions, I'm sold!

    CGI-Ugh! In the first trailer I was stoked. Then the TV spots came out and I kept feeling like they were cheesy. They were! Too big and looked too computerized; just not real. Get the people who did "Narnia" to do the next film(s), and make the wolves smaller.

    Volturi-Eh! A little over the top, not nbelievable. Jane's contacts?!

    Soundtrack: Good Choices - Satellite Heart, Possibility!

    Chris Wietz: I give him a 'B'. Coloring and tight shots didn't create the right atmosphere.

    I am a fan of the books and adore the movie TWILIGHT, the TWILIGHT score by the genius Carter Burwell, and the TWILIGHT songs, especially Rob's "Never Think." That said, I saw New Moon at a Midnight show Thursday night and think it's the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. Awful. Vapid. Passionless. Endless. The cast are so talented: Kristen, Taylor, Rob, Billy, etc. but they can't rise above a dreadful script and hack directing job (sorry Mr. Weitz.) The music was absolutely terrible which is shocking from the usually dependable Alexandre Desplats. The movie was rushed, there was no romance, the Volturri were hilarious, not scary. The TWILIGHT fight scenes with Cam Gigandet were fabulous. The passion between Bella & Edward was totally missing in NMoon. The audience I saw it with laughed all the way through, which isn't good, as it was supposed to be dramatic. Please Summit - BRING BACK CATHERINE HARDWICKE!! NMoon--what might have been. So sad. So disappointing.

    I loved New Moon. Although I think they could have made it better, overall it was good. I thought Taylor Lautner did the best job out of everyone. His role was hard to play but he delivered. I also think that Kristen did a better job than the first movie. And I have to add one more thing.. Rob and Taylor are damn sexy! I cant wait to see it again!

    Yeah i loved it, but there was so many things that could be improved. I mean the movie is always jumping, one minute Bella is in the water fighting for her life and the next she's on the beach, man it's confusing. I don't like the end "Marry me" i mean it's not like we don't know what happens. Kristen is sooooo.... much better in this film, she actually has some emotion. Does anyone think the vampires eyes looked weird. There eyes like poke out, maybe it's the contacts.

    Okay, I have to say that the whole movie was absolutely amazing. I am a big fan of the books, and when I saw Twilight, I was very disappointed. Although, when I saw New Moon, I LOVED IT! I loved it SO much that I've already seen it four times in theatre. My favourite parts would have to be when lykke li is playing and bella is sitting with the camera going around while the months are passing. I have to say, the soundtrack was great! I also really loved when Victoria was in the forest being chased, the song was perfect for it. Taylor Lautner was beautiful in every way possible. Edward was pretty good too, I loved the slow motion bits of him. Jessica was hilarious, the 'girls night out' was so funny, especially when Jessica was talking about Zombie movies. Wow, now that I think of it, I almost loved every single moment of New Moon, so...great job! CAN'T WAIT FOR ECLIPSE!

    First off....... Two thumbs up for Chris Weitz!! The movie felt full, complex and satisfying. The CG is really good! The story adaptation to movie is smart and brilliant. :)

    Likes:
    - the Jake-Paul fight;
    - Edward's reaction to the funeral news;
    - vampire Bella scene (Kristen acts really well there! Bella looks so strong, relaxed, and....tall??);
    - Jake-Bella chemistry;
    - Jasper's added little roles;
    - everything about Alice ;)

    Dislikes:
    - Rob's thin body (couldn't he train as hard as Taylor?);
    - on the other hand, the over-reliance on six-packs (really, must they go around bare-chested 24/7?);
    - Rosalie's looks (she's supposed to be the most beautiful creature on earth!!!);
    - over-aloofness of supposedly-childlike Jane

    All in all..... I hope it'll be Weitz that does Breaking Dawn!!

    I agree with Clairablle. I don't like the eyes either. They don't look natural. Who wouldn't notice that all the Cullens, who aren't actually related, have the same weird eyes. They just scream at you. In fact, they need to dial back Edward's makeup all around. He's too white early on in the movie, and the lips are too red. It's all a bit too sterotypical. That's my only criticism.

    I loved all of Edward's scenes, especially the fight with the Vulturi. Somehow, Rob manages to still look appealing in spite of the makeup.
