With nary half a year left before The Twilight Saga: New Moon is set to be released, thousands of Twilight fans are preparing this week for a monumental fan event, the TwiCon 2009 film festival.
The event, which takes place from July 30th until August 2nd in Dallas, is in full swing, with payments having just been fully collected on entry tickets last night.
The convention, like many, offers a variety of special guest appearances - from Twilight actors to fangroup personalities and inspired music groups - and a great number of fantastic events.
The special guests featured at the event include Twilight and New Moon stars Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Michael Welch, Billy Burke, and Christian Serratos. Also included are musicians Josiah Leming, Sage, Marcus Foster, Sam Bradley, Bobby Long, The Twilight Music Girls, Mitch Hansen Band, 100 Monkeys, The Bella Cullen Project. From the fandom, we have TwiGirl (Shannon Bayless), Lisa Hansen of the Twilight Moms, The Hillywood Show, Twilight Series Theories, M2 Parodies, TwiCurls, and Kaleb Nation (Twilight Guy), and Evil Iguana Productions.
From meet and greets to question and answer series, the special guests will be made available to the more than two thousand guests at the Sheraton Dallas, and various panels will be presented with discussions on everything from Twilight and the media to Twilight legends. There will be a screening of Twilight the movie, and a Volturi Masquerade Ball.

I'm looking forward to seeing the multitude of congoers when they realize that only 1/6th of them will get the autograph they were promised. (There's over 2000 people going & only about 200-400 autographs that will be signed.) If you didn't sign up for an autograph on the website you won't get one. This is including the people who weren't able to get one because of the system going down in their area.
