Adding to the wealth of insight already offered by The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade over the past few months is a list of updates which he delivered via Twitter this afternoon.
In the stream of updates, Slade announced that the post-production team was working on reviewing the wolves, saying they are "looking better & better."
Slade also said a mouthful when he said that "[t]he Eclipse story and they way we approached the film calls for a much more realistic approach." What exactly,= that means is yet to be seen.
Slade also stated that the Eclipse team is near to attaining a composer for the film and that the focus of the movie is upon the literal love triangle that exists between Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner).
Edward seems to be a really strong presence, the intensity of the love story & rivalry between Jacob is in the driving seat.
Jacob & Bella are matching with intensity, & it's all even with the action sequences. Right now we are in a great state of balance.
So far, so good then? As many of you have pointed out, the Eclipse story is action-oriented, yes, but its primary focus (and, hopefully, the primary emphasis of the film) is upon the love story that exists between these three.
Finally, despite the heavy progress reported upon, Slade sent a reminder that there are still two hundred days to go until the film is released.

Once and once again -- there is no love triangle!!!! Edward loves Bella-Jacob thinks he loves Bella-- Bella love loves Edward-- Bella loves Jacob as her best friend, she feels a strong connection to him that she wished he was her brother so she would have a justified claim on him. At one point she thought maybe if Edward was gone forever she might be able to be with Jacob but her heart would always belong elsewhere and it would not be fair to Jacob. Bella also knows that someday he would have to leave her anyway because of the imprinting another reason to want him as a brother.
They are going to ruin this book by putting way to much emphasis
on love love feelings between
Bella and Jacob that do not exist only wishful thinking on Jacobs part.

I hope it's better than New Moon as I was a bit disappointed with the movie. The soundtrack especially just wasn't nearly as good as the Twilight soundtrack.

Ok JCW for one Bella admits in the book that she truely loves both Edward and Jacob once she makes out with Jacob right before the Fight. Second Bellas heart will always belong to edward, yes, but part will always belong to Jacob to but as proven in the last book, this time it will have a different meaning. Thirdly stop trying to analyze books that no one cares to analyze and only read for fun! Thanx :)
JCW, u just described new moon, not eclipse. Bella does love jacob aswell, but not like she loves edward. Its why she was so destroyed at the end.

I am so excited for this movie, I just hope they don't focus too much on the action & the "love triangle." Please don't forget that this is Bella & Edward's romance and don't forget to show that & their great moments from the book. If there is more Jacob than Edward in this one I will be very unhappy.

okay has anyone read eclipes lately? Bella is in love with BOTH! Edward and Jacob. She tries to lie to herself about her true feelings about Jacob and when they kiss right before the fight her true feelings are revieled to her. "Jacob was right...I loved him,much more than i should, and yet it was still not enough to change anything." Page 258. But she loved Edward more she couldn't live with out him. "I cannot live without my heart, i cannot live without my soul." pge 611. Her love for both of them is what made the love triange. They need to show more of the personal relationships in the movies. That is what has disapointed me. You can't really tell how much she loves her father, how much she was bonded to Jacob when she left to save Edward. I hope in Eclipes it shows this side of their relationship. I also hope it shows true to her fear of victoria and the volutri and why she is pressing so hard to become a vampire. they need to not leave so much that is vital to the story out
and just beacuse jacob imprints with nessie in breaking dawn doesn't mean that he didn't love bella. He did. But the imprinting cut all the strings. It is like saying he never loved his pack or his father. It over road everything. Read the last chapter in Jacobs eyes in Breaking dawn. He will tell you that he loved the dead girl up stairs, but it wasn't until that moment he saw nessie that it didn't matter. He was bound to nessie after that.
i am so happy to read some sensible comments.i read eclipse twelve times because i wanted to really understand bella edward and jacob.i found that bella love jacob but she said she was in love with him.that i did not see i also agreed,that the love was one sided bella had brotherly love for jacob.She said edward was her heart and soul
I agree with vange and jcw... I read Eclipse a couple of times before going online to read what other people thought. It wasn't until then that I even considered a love triangle. To me (and because everyone reading the book has their own take on it, I emphasise that this is MY OPINION) it was always Jacob trying to rain on Edward and Bella's parade. Okay so she loved Jacob... but not enough to even barely recognize it and even still, once she was forced to recognize the love it did not matter enough to change anything. It was painful that Jacob cared for her more than she cared for him. Except in New Moon when he distracted Bella from her loss of Edward, the "love" she felt for Jacob was barely noteworthy.
If you've ever been in love with someone who doesn't love you back in the same way, you would NEVER wish for Bella and Jacob to get together. It would be a horrid shell of an existance for Jacob and bad even for Bella. It would never last. The pain would eventually tear them apart
I am currently reading Eclipse. I am so pro Edward all the way that I think I just whitewashed over the Jacob thing. He was so secondary to Edward, that I just considered his feelings for Bella to be of no consequence - sort of like when the boy across the street has a crush on you, walks through the snow to bring you chocolate covered cherries and a ring (OMG! Nooooooo! )and you meet him at the door, surprised, take the gifts in confusion, say "Thank you," close the door, find that the ring is too small, know that you hate chocolate covered cherries so you give them to your brother and just go watch TV and hope to forget it all.
Why would Bella ever seriously consider Jacob as a life mate? I doubt he'll even graduate from HS at the rate he's going. She'll be stuck in Forks or the Rez - have her 2.5 kids and she will never get to college or experience anything else in her life. I'd rather be dead and go to bed with Ed! Edward can provide it all - he IS the whole package!

OMG! Seriously! What is up with the lack of understanding of the depth of the relationship between Jacob and Bella? In case some of you forgot, Bella and Jacob knew each other long before she met Edward. Jacob is the first person within her age group that she talked to once she moved to forks. They remembered each other, felt comfortable talking to each other and hanging out every now and then. Friendships between a guy and a girl often have some amount of chemistry, and Bella and Jacob's friendship is no exception. Even when Edward was around in the first two books and movies you can see how comfortable Bella feels with Jacob. The intimacy between Bella and Edward is somewhat forced and uncomfortable, more so in the movies than in the books. The FACT that Bella makes it very clear that she LOVES Jacob in New Moon(book and movie) is just that, a FACT! The only thing keeping Bella from attempting a relationship with Jacob is her overwhelming love for Edward. Team Jacob all the way!
