If you're not familiar with Jen Yamato, here's the wrap on this young, hip entertainment journalist. She's smart, she's the source of awesome Twilight coverage for a great number of fantastic movie and television news sites, and she's the one who's brought you a bunch of interviews with The Twilight Saga: New Moon stars.
So, when Yamato caught up with Daniel Cudmore and Charlie Bewley at one of their stints on the New Moon cast tour, it's no surprise that she had some great questions for these New Moon Volturi cast mates.
In the interview with Cudmore, which is available in full here, he talked about his infamous fight scene with Robert Pattinson (as Edward Cullen).
He did a lot of it. He was game for it. I remember when he first came in saying, “I can’t do this stuff, I’m kind of clumsy, I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it,” and he started really trying it and was getting it right away. He’s starting to smile, having a good time. When it came to filming I think he was really excited about a lot of it. So it was quite a bit of him and a lot of his stunt double, Simon Burnett. I think Rob did maybe 40 or 50 percent [of his own stunts].
Cudmore, you well know, portrays Felix - a character with otherwise limited history and appearance in the Twilight series books - in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. His New Moon Volturi cast mate, Charlie Bewley, portrays Demetri - the tracker who sends Alice and Jasper running for the hills later in the series - and he also spoke (here) about the Volturi scenes in the soon-to-be-released film.
There is a scene in New Moon where our "food" is brought into the dining room -- the "food" being, as the books state, a bunch of well-fed American tourists who have come to appreciate Volterra. I would say the more vicious aspect of our characters, whereby we go in and absolutely rip these guys to shreds in the most primal, vicious, aggressive fashion.
Bewley also hinted at what Twilight fans could expect to see with David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse when it comes to the viciousness of the Volturi. Both interviews are excellent and definitely worth a perusal.
