MTV is taking notice of the fact that The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Jackson Rathbone has a band called 100 Monkeys, and that they are rather popular with Twilight fans.
According to MTV's article,
“We’d love it,” Rathbone told MTV News. “[But] we’re not really pushing for it,” he said. “It’s one of those things where if they want to put our song on the album, I’m not going to complain.” The 24-year-old describes his band’s sound as “old school rock and roll,” that is heavily influenced by blues and funk. “It’s not whiney music,” he added.

Rathbone doesn’t let his music get in the way of his acting, though. “Whenever I’m working on the ‘Twilight’ movies, I work all day on the film and then I go and rehearse with my band at night,” said the Texas-born actor.
Along with Rathbone, there are a number of other artists on the New Moon cast that are musically inclined as well. Take, for instance, co-star Kristen Stewart. She is one who has certainly been noted to sing a line or two for her films (up-coming film The Runaways is, expectably, not likely to be an exception). Co-star Robert Pattinson, as MTV notes, is, in part, a musician as well. Bringing to the Twilight album two songs (one which he himself co-authored with friend Sam Bradley and the other which his friends Bobby Long and Marcus Foster co-wrote), Pattinson is known for his gifts with music as well.
The same is true for another New Moon star - a newcomer this time. Jamie Campbell Bower, veteran of Sweeney Todd and Caius in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, has a band as well. Dubbed "The Darling Buds," this band also might have the chops for the New Moon soundtrack as well (a video of one of their performances is below).

I know he's a great actor and all, but he's kind of out of tune (singing and guitar), and the song is kind of repetitive...
the song sounds quite good so i think it won't be such a bad thing if he perform something for the soundtrack
I actually like the feel of Jamie's band!!
The Darling Buds really have a good sound. I think they would work great on the New Moon soundtrack! Go Jamie! Come play for us in the US!

I dont know about Jamie, he can sing ok and play guitar but I dont know if I would want him on the soundtrack.
I love Jackson and he's been with the story longer so I would say give his band a chance first.
i like them both and don't see why they couldn't both be on the soundtrack not to mention rob. oh hell make it an ALL cast soundtrack! lol. and not to be a stickler for details...jackson was born in singapore and was raised in texas among other places.
I would give Jackson's band a chance first, but Jamie's could also be in the soundtrack, maybe with another song. Where could this one fit in?
ouch!! I had to turn it off after a minute, it sounds terrible, sorry but i love the twilight soundtrack, every track but i dont think hes got what it takes yet for new moon soundtrack!!
ok, that was better then some of you thought it was. I was ready for the worst, and actually really enjoyed that. Man, this Twi-world is gving me so much new music to my life soundtrac. Thank you! From Bobby Long and the whole Brit-pack, now these guys. Yay!
I love The Darling Buds, I've been following Bower since Sweeney Todd.
I don't really want his music on the New Moon soundtrack. I LOVE his music to death, but I don't think this is the kind of exposure to his music he wants, just as what happened to Robert Pattinson. He totally stopped his music and everything was removed off the web because of the exposure it was getting.
I would love if they would be on the soundtrack. It would be a well deserved bit of fame for the band as well as Jackson, and I think it would help their popularit tremendously!!!!! Jamie's band can wait though JAckson First!!!
