Chris Weitz would've removed at least one scene from 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'

'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' - Summit Ent.

If there was one scene in The Twilight Saga: New Moon that you could pinpoint as the source for New Moon movie discussions-a-plenty, would it be the moment when "Alice" shares her vision of the future with "Aro" to save "Bella?"

Well, according to BuzzSugar (available at Twilight Lexicon or Twilighters Anonymous), New Moon director Chris Weitz said that the amount of criticism the scene has received has made it so that, if he could turn back time, he'd remove it altogether.

When you go back and watch it again, are there things you’d like to change if you could?

I would like to never have shot Rob and Kristen running through the forest and Kristen’s just turned into a vampire. Because everybody always laughs and it makes me feel terrible. [Laughs] I would have shot it a different way so it wouldn’t get that response. But otherwise, I’m very happy with things.”

So, just to see where everyone is at on this issue . . . did you love this scene or hate it? Why? Comment below and let us know!

I agree the forest running scene was a mistake. Jarred with the rest of the movie.

hahahaha well, first thing...what's going on with the clothes???the vision is of the 21st century those clothes do not belong! Secondly, I adore Rob, but he can't run! :D Thirdly, Kris looks like Laura Ingalls Wilder not like Bella Swan :) so yeah...that scene while hilarious, belongs in the bloopers section not in the movie...much like the scene with the Cullens out hunting and meeting the Quileutes back in the day...it works for comic relief though :D

The scene to me is a bit corny. It is Alice's vision, so it is what she sees and how she sees it. I agree though that there could have been a different way to shoot the scene without it being so ridiculous.

First time I saw the forest running scene, I laughed too. I'm sorry, but it was too funny. xD

I love that scene and didn't find it humorous, but see a general idea that Bella would be together with Edward as she will soon turn into a vampire. Although, people did giggle of the running scene of them, but to me personally I didn't mind it one bit. Besides...all movies have their mistakes in the films that directors could change for people to take seriously rather than a laughing stock.

And my faith in Weitz is restored!!! I hated that scene. I loved the thought behind it, but the execution....OMG. It was so completely against character. The outfits...the scene. Put them in different outfits and have them standing in the meadow or in the backyard of the Cullen's house. Done...there's your vision. I'm startled that Kristen and Rob were ok filming it since it was so against character.

I went to a pre-screening so the theater was filled with Twi-hards. Everyone in the theater actually laughed out loud at this scene. It was so out of place!

I'm totally with Irishgirl except I think they could have used the running, but at vamp speed in intervals. It definitely could have been made to look way cooler.

I think the idea was brilliant, but the execution wasn't great. It was Alice's vision and she's a romantic so she saw them in a more romantic fashion. It made me think of the part of Eclipse when Bella envisions herself in Edward's time. It was beautiful, and never made me laugh, but the fact that the rest of the audience laughed at it made it really distracting. I'm still 110% a fan of Chris Weitz and think he did a wonderful job with New Moon.

I think that he tried to make a good job for the fans, but he was nuts when he wanted to do that scene in the forest, I think it would be better to see Bella hunting alone like a vampire... just a thought....

It really doesn't fit. The clothing, the running just doesnt do the rest of the movie justice. And since when do they run slow like that. They enjoy the speed

I like this part of the movie. I think that the people who have read the books with appreciate it. This did happen in the book, not New Moon but in Breaking Dawn.

I liked this sceen. Cause once you think about it for awhile. You can understand why it is in the movie. Because if you have read all the books you know that bella belongs with edward. And will awways be with him forever and for always.

It's the costuming... in fact... the costumes for the entire film were laughable. Look at what Alice was wearing the entire time... and how about Jasper. Poor guy. I hope that whoever did the costuming does NOT return to Eclipse or this won't be the last scene we laugh at.

I liked the sceene but the clothes where all weird like, does she wear a dress like that before?.. ummm no so why does she wear one in this sceene it looks weird still i thought the sceene fit, cause it made me laugh.

I would've have made it more realistic. this looks like the pride and prejudice version of it. we aren't going back in time. i think if it would've looked like it took place now that would've been better. but it makes me giggle so i say no biggie. my only annoyance with the film was all that was left out of the end of the book. some of the best stuff if going to italy and coming back from italy but it was all chopped. yeah like i doubt any fan would complane about another 30 minutes of film.

Great idea, poor execution. Corniest scene, unfortunately. The only thing that redeems this scene in any way is the fact that you see Bella as a vampire. The clothes are ridiculous, as well as the slow motion. It's too bad, because the potential for this scene to be really cool was there. Oh, well! Other than this particular scene, Chris did a great job, so I'll let him slide on this.

the scene was ok could of changed the clothes. i was a little disspointed with the ending of new moon it shouldnt of ended like that. i agree with Jessica 100%. but other than that it was a good movie. cnt wait to see eclipse

I loved the scene...it was my favorite, cause they were so romantic and it made feel like a wedding or something, like a special moment for them, and the clothes were just perfect! Good job Chris!!!

I picture Bella (KStew) as smoking hot as a vampire, not all sweet and innocent with gold eyes and wearing a dress frk the 1900's. In the books she became a hotter, sexier version of herself, which is essentially what happens to all humans when they are turned. She needs to be just sexier and made up.

I have to admit I giggled when I saw this scene in the movie but it was Alice's image of what was going to happen so I chalked it up to that. However, having just finished reading Breaking Dawn (again) when Bella comes to after being turned, Alice dressed her & they pretty much describe to a T the outfit in the movie. And when they describe Edward taking her out hurt for the first time, the dress seems very much like the one she's wearing. They even talk about the shoes that Alice dresses in & how she had to take them off in order to jump out of the window and run through the forest.

Ok, I have to admit it's not my favourite scene in the movie. It's not that I hate it, but honestly, can you really really see Bella wearing THAT? Honestly?! And I don't see Edward wearing that either. Maybe if they were running towards a costume party? Maybe if he just shot them standing in the meadow together both glittering and in love or something. Anything else would have been better!

I thought this scene was a little silly. That is not how to portray Bella and Edward. I think it should have been taken out.

I thought it was kind of cheezy, according to the books when you become a vampire the individual is breathless, beautiful and hot. Maybe they should have shown Edward holding Bella or kissing Bella in his arms and they showed a glimpise of her beautiful Golden Eyes.

    I loved the entire movie.
Maybe the scene was not 100% uneccesary, but it was so inconsequential that I don't even remember it!
I am an artist so I know how quick others are to offer up a better scenario after the fact. Would that we all had the best imagination, the best visualization, etc., etc.
The director did a good job and the film was excellent.
    Can't wait for Eclipse.

Well, you have to really dig into the book and then try to stretch it. Alice sees things in the future and if Edward also had a foresight to the changing of Bella, he may have seen it in circa 1918. This 'look' of Bella would have been very romantic in Edward's mind. I think that is why Alice's vision looks like a past era.

I liked it, maybe people who have not read the books wont get it but i did. Alice saw bella that way in her vision, if people laugh its just cause they dont know how to feel about it. :)

I was in the theatre and everyone cracked up laughing. They were all WTH? It was cheezy. @ the least they should have had More "bellish" clothes on or sexy stuff. They could of showed them running fast then slowed it to show that it was them and showed her gold eyes and diamond skin, then showed them running fast again. That would have been better then the slow mo'

My issue: if this is Bella just after her transformation, her eyes should be a vivid red. Otherwise, no problem with the scene.

I agree it could have been done differently. They could have showed Bella looking at herself in the mirror for the first time and being shocked by her beauty and red eyes. They could have showed her stepping out of the 2nd story window with grace and easily landing on one foot. They could have shown her doing a backflip off the bed during the 1st few seconds of her "awakening".
But running in slow mow in 1918 clothes through woods? Mmmmm...no.
