I love watching Ronnie on Big Brother 11.
There, I said it. Let the angry comments begin.
Go ahead, make fun of me. I've seen the comments left here on the other Big Brother 11 articles, and I understand. People hate Ronnie.
Maybe that's not strong enough. People loathe Ronnie.
Admittedly, Ronnie doesn't have a lot going for him. He's annoying, he's a confessed dork, he's a liar, and he's definitely not the kind of guy who'd ever draw ratings just by walking around the house shirtless.
However, Ronnie brings personality to the game. I said earlier his knowledge of the game makes him the Rainman of Big Brother, and his main problem so far has been his outspoken nature. He knows how to play the game, but he's too up front about it. His exuberence has made him a big target.
Ronnie's a weasel, or a rat, or snake, or whatever other animal metaphor comes to mind. He's a guy with no physical nature whatsoever. His video game skillset doesn't apply to the Big Brother house at all. All he has are his schemes, and whatever influence he can wield.
Upon further review, Ronnie's not Rainman. He's Benjamin Linus, from Lost.
Sometimes he's a good guy, sometimes he's a bad guy. He goes from hapless victim to criminal mastermind in the course of a single day.
While Ronnie's in the house, it remains interesting. He's a wild card, a guy who's admittedly playing the game from the first day.
And let's face it, if Ronnie leaves the house, what's left right now? Another month of floaters and muscle-heads yelling at each other?

You love Ronnie therefore you have no taste. He knows every episode and player and is a wannabee Will. He doesn.t come close to playing like him...well first you have to get a personality and second he got caught right a way and Jessie and them saved him it sure wasnt his talent cause he has none

I found your article to be very informative. Oh not about the grown man that plays video games for hours at a time while ignoring his family, the grown man that plays with Star War toys and quotes characters from the same movie ( it was a MOVIE Ronnie-the "force" doesn't really exist), the man that I think deserves to go home this week, but about you Mr. Reid.
I just couldn't help but wonder how many of your close friends have as many of the same wonderful traits that you admire in Ronnie. I would think that would certainly be a fun group to hang around with! Just a quick note to shella-- you forgot to put the word "home" in front of RONNIE, didn't mean to say GO HOME RONNIE?
My problem is not that Ronnie is playing the game it is that he is not playing it well. I would respect his game play if it seemed like he was thinking at all. He tells everyone everything that he thinks and hears. He has no filter. He would be more likable or respectable if he sat down for 5 minutes and actually thought about something before he ran to the next person and told them. He wants to be liked by the popular Jesse so much that he let it affect his game.
I hope Ronnie stays!!! I voted for him to be the Coup D'etat winner. Why? Because like him or not, he keeps the drama aspect of the show live and hopping... Also, I'm no fan of ostracization.
I think Sheila is actually Michelle (Ronnie's wife) or perhaps his sister or Mom. I can't wait until Ronnie is off the show. I can't stand to even hear him walk in the house. You can hear him coming. He needs to get a life. I also am a Big Brother fan but he seems to know every show word for word. He is like Rainman when it comes to that. Isn't there more important things in this world then reciting the past 10 Big Brother seasons. May the force be with you Ronnie. I truly feel sorry for his wife when they have a family. He seems to already neglect his wife, I feel sorry for his kids. Their grown father sitting for hours playing video games and watching old Big Brother shows and Star Wars.
I also find it amusing is that he wears glasses but if you get to watch the live feeds or she Big Brother on Showtime whenever he is going to cry he doesn't wear his glasses. You know in advance when he is going to cry just by seeing him not wear his glasses. Leave Ronnie!

Ok Ronnie knows the game, but he doesn't seem to have common sense. He puts a target on himself, and then seems shocked that the entire house wants to ignore him. If he was as smart as he says he is, he would have know not to start the game with guns blazing. I believe he is attempting to steal others game playing ideas from past shows, but should have figured out that the people that come in causing a stir normally go home pretty early, or don't win in the end.
I totally agree with everything you said. Once he's gone the game will get very boring and predictable. He may have made a few mistakes along the way but he's also been playing the game pretty well. You have to lie, cheat and back stab to stay in this game. If you float by or ride on someones coat tails you don't deserve to win. And if I remember correctly a certain doc won season 2 after lying, cheating, back stabbing everyone. And they all knew it. So I say GO RONNIE!!
He is ok at playing the game but his ego is enormous! And he looks like Hitler w/o a mostache maybe thats what gives me the creeps when I see him.....Or simply he is scary evil ugly looking
Ronnie is an idiot! If he really knew how to play the game, he wouldn't be on the block right now. He's so full of himself with little reason to be. I haven't seen one thing he has done to make me think he is actually a smart guy. I hope he is voted out, I can't stand looking at him. He is not what makes the show interesting, he's what makes it almost hard to watch. Brings nothing at all to the talbe.

VERY well said. This season of BB is more boring than watching grass grow. If it wasn't for Ronnie & his drama, there would be no excitement at all. There seems to be a dichotomy among viewers-- you either like Ronnie or you love Jeff. I'm not sure what the fixation with Jeff is, aside from his looks, but I think it says something about the psychology of the viewer:
If you like Ronnie, you are probably male, pretty intelligent and enjoy asking the question, "why" in life, without requiring an answer.
If you love Jeff, you are probably a female, not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and have some unusual jealousy of Jordon. You're generally satisfied with life but have no motivation to do anything drastically different
The BB folks who selected this cast really did a bang-up job selecting individuals that would stereo type exceptional
OK that meakes sense nobody said he wasen't a smart player, but he played the game too hard too fast thats why he went from the guy that could possibly win the game to the rat , he had a chance if winning if he only slowed down and stop making himself so obvious to the rest of the house
PS- Since you're already stereotyped me based on what I've written below, I felt it important to let you know that I hate both Ronnie and Jeff. I have no favorite HG this season. I just want the show to be interesting, instead of listening to the HGs sleep, talk about tanning, and have the conversational skills of caveman. Once again, I have ZERO favorites.
I read Jesse comment that he made to Ronnie about production arranging it that Ronnie could stay for rating purposes. I like to say that myself and people I know say if Ronnie doesn't leave this week that the whole thing is fixed and will no longer watch. How dare them take a chance for someone else to win away deliberately because they want Ronnie to leave. Listen up, America wants Ronnie gone. Let him go home and watch the rest of the season and memorize what every one says, the games they play etc. Leave Ronnie and may the force be with you! If this is a scam and fixed shame on CBS. How could they select the players who they think are more deserving to be on the show for the final two. It isn't fair to the other players who have put their lives on hold for a chance to win. Please listen to America we want Ronnie off and we want real reality TV not scripted or fixed. If I find it is fixed I will no longer watch nor will my family or my friends who agree with me.
I want to make a comment to PJ. It was not directed to me but I don't have a real favorite but I do know I do not like Ronnie. I do not think that intelligent men like watching him a women who not the sharpest knife in the drawer like Jeff and are jealous of Jordan. I am a female but am not jealous of Jordan nor do I find Ronnie intelligent because he can quote word for word from every past Big Brother. He needs to get a life. I do like Jeff no because of his looks but because of his character. I like Jordan because she is the only one that can have a conversation with out throwing out F bombs. If they only knew how ridiculous they sound. I have a friend who is from Boston who talks like a sailor and then wonders why her 2 year old says dirty words, other than that fortunately I am surrounded by people who can speak with out cussing. It must take them forever to edit to find something that they can air on prime time. Back to Ronnie he needs to go.
Leave Ronnie. America wants you gone. I think all the women need to stop waiting on these men, let them cook, clean etc for themselves. Don't let these men take advantage of you.
Ronnie wants to like Will and it will never happen. I don't care if he comes on the show and quotes him word for word he is not Will. Will was funny. Ronnie is boring. I cannot wait to see him leave. If he is still on I will no longer watch because I will know for sure it is fixed just as Jesse was caught saying today that he thinks production will fix it that Ronnie can stay for ratings. I think the ratings will fall because most of America who is watching will stop watching. I thought it was very nice that Jeff and Jordan both order cheaply when ordering food on CBS tab. That says a lot about both of them. They are not users and think they are deserving like many other on the show. I wish Will could come back, he was the best player of all time.
I think Ronnie is being set up to win Coup d'État by CBS. If you look at the promos they run, he's the only one seen pleading for the special power and it's in CBS's best interest to keep him on because he's the most polarizing and most matches the average American from a physical perspective of those who remain... Disclosure: I want Ronnie to win, lol.
Whoever said Ronnie is a Big Brother expert who knows everything about every past house guest and every episode, is retarded. I've heard him go on and on about stuff he supposedly knows about previous seasons, players, games, winners, etc., and I guarantee 60% of it is either completely wrong or wrong enough to not be true. I've watched and recorded every episode of Big Brother and Big Brother After Dark, so I know how little of an expert he is when starts talking.
The reason why people think he knows so much is because he told them he knows so much. Since they don't know, they just take his word for it. I sometimes tell people to give me a date and I'll tell them what day of the week that day was on. I normally have plenty of takers, so once they give me a date, I just make a day, and everyone's jaw drops. Everyone wants to know how I do it. Simple: I just make up a day and people believe it. Since they have no way of checking, why wouldn't they believe it?
