If you’re going to make a movie, think twice about revolving the plot around roller derby.

Whip It, Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, boasted an excellent cast and a hyper promotional schedule for those involved in the project.

When the money was counted, however, Whip It essentially tied for sixth place in this week’s Top 10 movies, according to Rentrack Corporation.

Zombies ruled the weekend. Zombieland, starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, brought in $25 million in box office receipts.

Coming in second is the super-hit Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which brought in $16.7 million.

The 3-D double feature of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 finished third with $12.5 million.

The Invention of Lying debuted in the fourth position with $7.4 million, with Bruce Willis’ Surrogates following closely with $7.3 million.

Whip It and Capitalism: A Love Story tied at sixth with $4.85 million each.

The latest version of Fame didn’t capture much imagination, either, bringing in about $4.8 million in box office receipts.

The Informant hung around at least one more week, finishing at $3.8 million.

Rounding out the top 10 is Love Happens, which brought in $2.8 million in receipts.
