The fight for Ron Swanson on ‘Parks and Recreation’: May the best Tammy win!

If you thought Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) became a different man when Tammy II (Megan Mullally) was around, just wait to you see what time spent with his first wife Tammy (Patricia Clarkson) does to him! Actually, don’t wait at all: just tune into Parks and Recreation tonight when “Ron and Tammys” airs, giving you a look at a new (surprisingly hairless) side to Swanson.

As you know from the season premiere, Ron is being audited, and his ex has come back to “help” him. But any help given by these women is more about their own sense of control over his life than any interest in his own actual wellbeing. Tammy II may have been in it for the sex, but Tammy I just wants Ron’s money-- which he keeps underground, burying the gold he owns. So Tammy I, you might say, is literally a gold-digger.

Ron’s personality changes completely when he is around his exes, so Leslie (Amy Poehler) sets out to bring the only woman who can really knock some sense into him to the parks department. But Ron’s mother, the original Tammy (Paula Pell) has motives of her own, and the three women end up in a good ole fashioned drinkin’ contest for Ron. We thought there was nothing better than when Ron changed his hair, but really, Drunk Leslie is a very, very close second.

Meanwhile, Ann (Rashida Jones) and Chris (Rob Lowe) bond while they shoot a new diabetes PSA, and Ben (Adam Scott) heads to Entertainment 720 to do the accounting books for Tom (Aziz Ansari), who has been handing out iPads like they’re candy and has now hired two professional basketball players for pick-up games in their “foyer.” This is the Parks and Recreation we know and love, and we’re thrilled to welcome it back so soon in the new season!

Parks and Recreation airs on Thursday nights at 8:30pm on NBC.
