PHOTO PREVIEW: Cheryl Hines talks Christmas in 'Suburgatory'

"We had a Christmas episode, and it is a little peek into Dallas’ world of family traditions. They have three giant pink Christmas trees in the house. Not necessarily traditional, but definitely Dallas Royce style!" Suburgatory series star Cheryl Hines previewed for LA TV Insider Examiner.

"And the dog is sticking around! And it is so cute!"

The Suburgatory Christmas episode, "The Nutcracker," which you can see a photo preview of in the slideshow to the left, sees much more than just fluorescent trees, though.

When Tessa (Jane Levy) overhears George (Jeremy Sisto) break up with his girlfriend on Skype, she blames herself for his failed relationship and decides that she's going to get them back together. Unbeknownst to her, though, George is really enamored with Tessa's cute art teacher. He admits that he's over dating crazy city women, and that he's looking for love in the burbs. George decides to embrace the holiday spirit with a tree trimming party complete with ex-girlfriend, potential new girlfriend, and the Royces, and he soon finds himself under the mistletoe with a special someone...

Could it be Dallas herself? Hines wouldn't say conclusively, though she did tease: "It’s interesting because, you know, there’s a lot brewing with Dallas and George, and on paper, it does not look like a good match-- in all columns. Our daughters don’t get along; we’re cut from different cloths; it does not look good. But there is something there with George and Dallas, and it’s building and bubbling, and you want to root for those two to get together, so I think it’s nice to see Dallas and Tessa-- see them forming a relationship of some sort. And it’s really funny because in an upcoming episode, George goes out of town, and he calls me and tells me that he thinks Tessa’s going to have a party, and I say ‘Oh my goodness, I hope I’m invited'!"

But Dallas is going to have some "big changes" coming up, per Hines, who said "she’s going to have a renaissance of sorts, a rebirth. She’s about to discover some things about herself," and we can only hope those changes will include dumping the dud of a husband for good and expanding her world view with George even further.

Suburgatory airs on Wednesdays at 8:30pm, only on ABC. "The Nutcracker" airs on December 7th 2011.
