Remember when you were a kid and your favorite actors from teen series would go on mall tours? Hundreds of screaming, squealing girls would line up to snap a photo, get an autograph, probably try to steal a lock of hair or piece of clothing. It was a great way to promote the start of a new season or a very special episode. In fact, if we remember correctly, it was done most commonly with NBC shows. And guess what? The event is returning-- but with a twist. The Voice may not be returning to NBC for a few weeks, but before it does, you will have a chance to meet one of its stars on a very special mall tour. That's right: the big red chair will be on display at malls across America, starting right here in Los Angeles with the Westfield in Topanga Canyon.
Saturday, January 21st from noon to six p.m., fans of The Voice should head to Westfield Topanga (off the 101 freeway) to have a chance to sit in the chair just like your favorite coach. In addition to getting your "experience" in the chair recorded and emailed for social media sharing, special song download cards will be given away. Oh yeah, and new social media correspondent Christina Milian will be on hand for a select window, as well!
After making this stop in L.A., the chair will make its way across the country for a number of stops, including a Campus Invasion in New York and Indianapolis, as well as a trip to the Mall of America. To find out the most up-to-date information on where the chair will be, you can just follow @NBCTheVoice on Twitter and look for the hashtag: #TheVoiceChair.
Which coach do you plan to emulate??
The Voice returns to NBC with its second season premiere on February 5th, right after the Super Bowl.
