"FlashForward" star Michael Ealy, a native of Silver Spring, will appear in the upcoming fourth season of Showtime's original series "Californication."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor will star in five episodes as a love interest for Natascha McElhone's character Karen van der Beek, the on and off girlfriend of show star David Duchovny.

The 36-year-old grad of Springbrook High School and the University of Maryland, College Park most recently played Marshall Vogel on ABC's "FlashForward," and headlined the Showtime series "Sleeper Cell."

Showtime also announced Monday that Rob Lowe will guest-star during "Californication's" fourth season as an actor who wants to play Duchovny's character Hank Moody in a feature film.

Duchovny has said previously that next season will show Moody trying to undo the hot mess he got himself into last season, when he ended up behind bars.
