CBS to give Three Rivers a new time slot this following Sunday. Cold Case and Three Rivers are switching places to see if either show will improve in the ratings with the temporary change.
According to the Hollywood Reporter:
The one-time scheduling switch comes as rumors circulate that CBS is contemplating an additional script order for "Three Rivers" (two) and possibly even ordering additional episodes (five). The network may be waiting for nationals to come in tomorrow for Sunday's episode (which hit a season high in the preliminary ratings) before making a decision.
Perhaps with this surprising decision by CBS, the struggling series will find a way to survive. This week's episode "The Luckiest Man" had the highest ratings ever, and with the change maybe Three Rivers will be able to repeat the success with even higher ratings. That's what CBS is hoping anyway.
Three Rivers usually airs Sundays on CBS at 9/8 c. This next Sunday, Cold Case will air in the earlier slot, while Three Rivers will run at 10/9 c instead.
Sound off Below: Do you think this is a good move on the part of CBS? Do you think the ratings will go up, giving both shows a chance for survival? If you haven't been watching Three Rivers, do you think you will give the show a chance in this new time slot?

I've never missed an episode of Cold Case but have never watched Three Rivers as I am not a big fan of medical shows so won't watch it in any time slot. I will however follow Cold Case regardless of the time slot - I wish CBS would bring back Without A Trace - I watched that show all the time.
Three Rivers is a wonderful show with a lot of potential and it has been a scheduling victim from day one. Not only is its regular time slot opposite Desperate Housewives and Sunday Night Football, but it also seems to air at a different time each week due to the pushed back timeslot after football on CBS. Now that is is beginning to pick up steam and actually aired near its regular 9 o' clock time slot for the past two weeks, earning its best ratings yet last week, the network is switching it to 10 o'clock after Cold Case this week. And with CBS having a double header in football on Sunday, Three Rivers is likely to air much past 10, for those who even know where to find it. This is terribly unfortunate, because viewers are just getting to know the characters and the network needs to get behind the show and show a commitment after football season to get a true picture to Three Rivers' potential. Give it a chance!
Eve, I agree. It's been hard to know exactly when 'Three Rivers' is on because if you DVR it for instance, it can easily cut out. It's easier when shows are pushed back when they already have a fanbase. They'll follow their show anywhere, as Lorie put it. :) 'Three Rivers' is still new, and hasn't really had the time to gain a huge following yet. I think each episode gets better, so more people should give it a chance!
Oh, and Lorie, 'Without a Trace' was a great show! The good ones always seem to get canceled it seems.
"Three Rivers" an excellent series with great potential. The episode "The Luckiest Man" is proof of this. Must give a chance series.
My family has been watching and enjoying Three Rivers and its brilliant charismatic actors since the season premiere. We will absolutely watch Three Rivers. CBS must give this wonderful, inspiring and educational medical drama about tissues and organ transplantation a chance to tell the highly skilled surgeons' and staff's back stories, personal lives and their daily heroic work at Three Rivers Regional Medical Center. Each new episode of Three Rivers gets better and better, gaining new and additional viewers week after week. I believe that CBS has been supportive of Three Rivers and its important life saving topics, given the network's partnership with the show and Donate Life America. Please CBS give Three Rivers, a unique drama, unlike the standard crime dramas, a chance to prove itself.
my name is charlene and i will watch three rivers at 10 pm i watch ai 9pm one hour later does not mean that much to me three rivers is a great show and alex o'loughlin puts all of hes seft in to it i watched moonlight to and then cbs took it off i dont now why there was a lots of alex o'loughlin fans watching it and i am one of them cbs keep it on i hope 10pm will help there is no other show on at that time three rivers is a very good show so keep that in mind before you take it off alex but so much in to this show you took moonlight from him dont take three rivers from to that would be a slap in the face to alex i am behind alex he needs hes fans three rivers is a real show live is hard and that shows you how hard it is thanks charlene
Please leave Three Rivers at the 9:00 time slot we love it. Cold Case is just that, cold. Seeing people being saved by a transplant is more exciting than seeing a dead person's ghost be happy.
Give Three Rivers a chance to attract a following at its new timeslot. If I can't watch it while it's showing, I record it. I've often found that much of the episode cuts off because it starts later than is advertised. Stay with one timeslot. Expand your story lines past heart transplants. Several eps in a row dealt with them. Be more "real life" in what you show. People in need of transplants aren't usually walking around the hospital cracking jokes and looking a picture of health. It's hard being that sick. It's scary. And Three Rivers needs to show more grit. Even with these suggestions I'm thrilled such a show exists. It's a story that needs to be told. People die waiting. And everyone has the power to save one life,if not several lives. You can't get much "greener" than recycling yourself. Think about it. I'm alive today because someone chose to become an organ donor.
Please leave Three Rivers where it is. Many people that watch it are dialysis patients that need to be at their center for dialysis very, very early on Monday mornings. It already starts late due to football running late. I think that is where the problem lies. I love football, but I never know when the show will start. Moving it to a later time will not allow those who are hopeful for a transplant to miss out on this great show that shows transplants. It is uplifting to see what goes on and that people really do care and offer organ donations.
Please keep Three Rivers on!!! It is excellent and can get better. Don't move it around, that kills the interest. I hate hunting for a show because you move the time and then you move the day.
I love this show. Please keep it on the air and in a stable day/time slot.
This is a very good show that can get better. Please keep it in your schedule. The story lines are very good. The topic is very relevant today!
This is a great show that is a keeper. The actors are very good and the stories keep me interested. I learn a lot from this show and the donate to life theme is very important.
Please give Three Rivers the chance to thrive. it's a very good show, very talented actors. For those who are recording and miss the end because of football running over, just add an hour to the end time of your DVR or recorder and the problem will be solved. That's what I do, also for Cold Case.
Great Show. You are finally doing a show that is based along true stories.I know it will bring more people into an awareness on the need for more eye, tissue and organ donations. If people would just think about if they were in someone else's shoes and they needed help in it either being eyes ,tissue and or organs then I know it wold help the cause. PLEASE give it a chance.
