In the first of two episodes that originally aired September 4, 2010, Heather and Lori's cupcake business is having a financial crisis. Their bills are piling up. They know they need to cut their baking costs and find another investor. But, they have to deal with their immediate problem first. Their ingredients supplier, Snow Cap Enterprises Ltd., has threatened to make them pay COD or cut them off completely.
Lori, who has been going through IVF, just had two embryos implanted into her uterous. Her doctor instructed her to take it easy for awhile. Heather doesn't want Lori to feel stressed, so she handles their cash flow problem. She meets with Tony from Snow Cap Enterprises Ltd. He offers to buy the excess inventory they have in dry storage which solves the problem.
During the second episode, Heather and Lori fly to Victoria to look at a location for a new store. Heather and Lori met in Victoria when they were teenagers. While they are there, Lori finds out she is pregnant. Heather and Lori are staying with Lori's parents. Lori isn't ready to tell them about her pregnancy. But, she and Heather do discuss the pros and cons of opening a store in Victoria. After her parents encourage them to take a risk, Lori and Heather decide to put a deposit down on the space that is still under construction..
In St. Paul, new episodes of The Cupcake Girls can be seen Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. on WE tv.
