Kate Gosselin appears to be making alternate plans when it comes to her television career. Gosselin, one of the stars of TLC's 'Jon & Kate Plus 8,' is set to film a pilot for a talk show this weekend with Food Network alum Paula Deen. No title for the new show has been announced.
According to Radar, Deen has been trying for five years to shop around a talk show idea. Now she's been paired up with Gosselin for a show that will feature a mix of cooking, advice, health and beauty tips, and celebrity gossip. Given that Gosselin has seen the harsh side of being a target for gossip, it's surprising that this will be included in the show.
The format of the show will be tweaked and could take some on an appearance similar to 'The View.' Multiple hosts may be added to the show and reports are that Tammy Lynn Michaels and Sandra Bernhard have been considered as possible additions.
Here's the big question: Will audiences tune in to watch Kate Gosselin host a talk show? Gosselin has admittedly seen a change in public opinion since her very public separation and divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband, Jon. Prior to their split, Gosselin was seen as a shrew that was exploiting her children on their reality show and was outright nasty. Since the announcement of their split, and with Jon's popularity all but gone due to a rotating door of girlfriends, partying, and cruel interviews, Kate's been enjoying public sympathy (although there are plenty who still intensely dislike the woman). Still, will this be enough to draw in a steady stream of viewers to make the show successful? Eventually, the drama between Jon and Kate will be over; what will that mean in terms of ratings and interest?
Gosselin has very little experience with talk shows, other than guest spots. Her recent turn as a guest co-host on 'The View' proved successul, but is hardly enough to make her an expert. She would be a good person to dole out parenting advice, especially when on topics such as organization and caring for large families. Gosselin also has a very open personality and that could translate very well in a talk show setting. Paired with a friendly, familiar face like Deen's, the show could be quite a hit.

Yes, I would watch the show. Kate has been given a bad rap for being a typical busy mother. How many of us out there have heard ourselves sound a bit like a shrew from time to time, but since there isn't anyone filming us and only showing those ugly moments, we forget how sometimes things come out of our mouths in a way that sounds worse than we meant it to. If my husband was as passive aggressive as Jon was, I would probably have had many more of those moments myself. You go Kate....none of us are perfect, but you've shown a lot of class, something I'm not sure I could do in your situation. God Bless you!
Good Gawd no. Kate Gosselin is nothing but a money hungry fame whoring absentee mother. The sheeple need to get their heads out of their butts and look at real "reality" here. I live near the Gosselins, and they are to say the least, the bane of the area. No one here likes them, or their antics. Google them and do some research, and you will see what liars and scam artists they really are.

I support anything in the Gosselin camp that gets the kids off tv. I am a fan of the show, but am very conflicted about the events transpired since Oct 2008. The jury is still deliberating with me.
I can't believe someone as nice and talented as Paula Deen would want to pair up with the likes of a no talent like Kate Gosselin! If Paula was looking for something for 5 years, she must of been super desperate. And Kate Gosselin would jump at any chance to keep herself on TV, and who would take advice from someone that exploits her children. What are her tips going to be, how to make money off you kids, and treat your husband like crap until her can't take anymore? Good luck Paula!
Kate Gosselin's only talent is in expoiting her children for financial gain. She needs to stay home with her eight young kids.

Yes I would watch. Since none of us is in her shoes or the shoes of Jon, who are we to place judgment on either of them. I think she is doing what anyone of us would do if given the opportunity. Lets face it with the economy the way it is she would be crazy not to take advantage. I don't believe she is doing so at the expense of her children. Perhaps if she is given an opportunity to do a talk show she will find that she can provide for her family witout the need to continue Jon & Kate Plus 8. Give her a break!!
You have got to be kidding - no way would I watch anything with Kate Gosselin on it - Give Jon a break - after living with Kate - anyone looks good - apparently people that like Kate have never watched the way Kate treated Jon on the show.
I will defiantly watch it!! Kate in an amazing mother and is only doing what she needs to do to provide for her children. She has 8 cars to buy, 8 colleges to pay for, 5 weddings to pay for, and the list goes on and on. She is now, doing it for the most part on her own as well. So, I say GO KATE!

If Kate is going to do a talk show, where will she be doing the tapings? Where will the children be when she is working? Previously Kate said she bought that house for her children and so will she be doing the show from her home in PA?

NO, I would NOT watch any show with Kate Gosselin!! She's is not the great mother she claims to be. I only have two kids and spend more time at mothering that she does. She has nannies, cooks, housekeepers and production assistants. Jon, who I admit is no saint, (so don't start in on that) alternates time with Kate watching the kids, per their agreement. On many episodes of their show she is shown making disgusted noises and rolling her eyes at the kids, far too many times for people to say "give her a break she's raising 8 kids", again read above about the help! It is OK to be a strong organized person, BUT NOT if you are constantly demeaning those you supposedly love. Lastly, I do not think she has the "gift of gab." She appears and sounds awkward in front of the camera and never warm and friendly, only holier that thou and haughty. The preview clips TLC runs of upcoming epdisodes are CRINGE worthy! Kate is awkward and creepy even when trying to play with her kids!

I think Kate is intelligent and entertaining, regardless of what you might think of her, she is dedicated to her kids. Her own show would give Kate the funds she needs to raise 8 kids. The kids could be featured in little update clips once in a while, otherwise they could stay out of the public eye, and live a normal life. So far, Jon's earning prospects seem dismal....
Also, Paula is no shrinking violet, so I think she could hold her own with Kate. A little advice to Kate- be nicer to people...you want control, but control is an illusion. The only thing we truly control is our own response to circumstances.

No, Kate bombed on the View,she couldn't handle conversation, follow up questions or talk at length, she was nervous, her foot kept moving, it was an awkward mess. Let's face it, the woman is famous for having 6 kids at once, that is the extent of her, for tv entertainment you need someone who reads, travels, thinks and notices the world around them, Kate only cares that she looks good. She is too uneducated, her grammer is horrible, no, no hell no.

Kate has showed her personality on her show J&K+8..she makes in enjoyable and her personality and tonal quality work for TV. I am not sure she is cut out for talk show host with another person..she is better by herself and being the one in control..I think she could be a good comedy actress for movies.

Regarding Jon...yes Kate bullied him and talked down to him, but it took TEN YEARS before he stood up to her and got help! Now he is running around acting like an irresponsible teenager! Saying awful things about Kate, whether true or not, will come back to bite him when the sextuplets get older and read about dads exploits!! Time for him to grow UP, and make a living without it involving using his kids for publicity. If Kate does a talk show and its not with the kids, it gives her the chance to make the money she will need, and not involve the children. Those little ones need privacy and stability. I like Paula...if anybody can work with Kate and not be mowed over by her bossiness, its Paula! Go Paula!!

You have to be kidding. I WILL NOT watch anything with Kate Gosselin. Maybe I would be more sympathetic if SHE actually mothered the 8 children she brought into this world. This is going to hurt Paula Deen in the long run.
If you watched their show this women deserves everything that is going on in her life . She is nasty, controlling, and doesn't care about anyone except herself. She is playing mother of the year which she is not. Jon has been making poor choices but the way he was treated on that show was pathetic, I think he is getting a bad rap im not sure how much of what is out there is really the truth. Kate shut her and Jon's family out of their life it's time for everyone to shut her out of the lime light. She is all about the money and will do and say anything to make herself shine. No show for Kate it would serve her right. I do feel sorry for the kids
I'm for Kate doing a talk show. It takes a strong personality like hers to do that. The only major conflicting factor I see between Paula and Kate is the North/South factor - that can be pretty adverse. So Kate's controlling. She may have been harsh towards Jon in the past. But what he's done to her publicly now is beyond repair. I can relate to her because of her genuine care for her children, regardless of what it takes to raise them. A talk show would bring the kids out of it. And let's face it she will probably always need to work, so why shouldn't it be something she's wanted to do. I've always believed if the momma's happy, then everyone's happy.
KAB, since when is a mother responsible for buying 8 children 8 cars. College won't be a problem. The tups are so far behind now, that they will get senior citizen rates for tuition. If they do make it through high school eight kids in a family means all sorts of grants, loans and scholarships.
Keep an open mind about both Jon and Kate, then do an equally fair to both search at you tube for Jon and Kate ugly moments, and you can see Kate at her best for entertainment.

Yes I would watch. Kate has learned alot about herself and it seems to me she is trying to change. I think being with Paula would be perfect. Don't fault her for looking ahead to support her family because we all know Jon certainly won't be able to.

I LOVE Paula Dean. I'd watch a show with her on it. But as soon as I'd see Kate on the show, I'd switch channels.

No way would I watch Kate give anyone advice!! I know she was nervous on the View but she didn't contribute much and apparently informed them of topics not to address with her. Jon and Kate plus 8 was supposed to be about them raising the kids on their own. . . .now we know they had help all along. She totally emasculated Jon (he did allow it), refused to give a child water (understood not giving to one because there wasn't time to give it to all eight) then proceeded to drink some in front of her and believes she is the only one who can be right (she popped Emeril because he told her to leave Jon alone). I do not agree with all of Jon's recent actions, but I do believe he will settle down between what we see on the show and now. I think we see the true Kate on the show.

I always loved Paula Deen until now. Why would she team up with a "thing" like Kate. Everyone could see how that woman treated her husband, kids, family and friends on the show. She is a witch. I would be so sorry to see Paula Deen paired up with Kate. I am such a fan of Paula... she started out on her own and worked so hard to get where she is today, and included her family in the creation of the empire that she has. She is smart, funny and wildly successful and has a true devotion to her family. Based on those characteristics, I don't see how Kate can be a match as she doesn't possess any of them. I love Paula Deen, but I could not watch her on a show with Kate and take any of it seriously.
I think Kate should take the money that she has made so far..and concentrate on the mental and emotional well being of her children. I think for her to focus on the monetary gain by being out in the public is totally selfish..She is just creating a negative publicity The negative publicity has not been just about Jon, there has been alot about Kate also..You can have all the money in the world..but it isn't going to matter when your kids are all screwed up because of all the dysfunction that is going on right now...Kate says she is doing this for her kids..but I believe it is more for her.. She has gotten used to the lifestyle and she probably thinks it will help her deal with the situation of her life better... but I think she will be sorry in the long run..Money can't buy you happiness...I hope she rethinks continuing on in the limelight..and change her focus to her family..because in the end that is what really matters..
I felt the same way all of you feel but since she and Jon split she is nicer. Give her chance. Her older daughters are brats and might do better with a nanny than with kate. Paula does well with anybody.
