The 2009 American Music Awards will air tonight at 8pm on ABC. The event, which takes place in the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, will feature some of the biggest and best artists in the music industry. Slated to appear or perform are Adam Lambert, Taylor Swift, the Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez, and more.

Taylor Swift is up for Artist of the Year. Her big threat? None other than the late Michael Jackson. Will Swift be able to keep her momentum going by picking up this big win so soon after winning Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards? No one knows but the answer will come before the night is over. Swift is also up for four other awards, including Female Artist and Best Album.

The celebrities have been arriving at the Nokia Theatre. Take a peek at the slideshow and check back for updates throughout the evening!

We still hope that Carrie Underwood will save her hometown movie theater. I don't know her personally, but I know that she is a wonderful person.

About the AMA's on tonight's broadcast. I tuned in for one minute and found myself watching Eminem and they had to delete/bleep every other word he sang. It was terrible!!!! Even if I was a huge fan of his I would have been frustrated because I couldn't even hear the **** song. Why would they let him sing that if they knew they were going to bleep the whole thing out. This is ridiculous and not even entertaining. I know its "great" to be provocative now-a-days but I don't even think this is beneficial to the artist. Unless you're sitting in the audience they either alienate you for the obscenity or frustrate you for not getting to hear the song.

    Frustrated!
