Twitter power: So You Think You Can Dance Michael Jackson tribute show in the works

So you think you can thrill?

Via his Twitter account, So You Think You Can Dance's executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has begun planning a Michael Jackson tribute show.  According to his most recent tweets, the following choreographers have reported for duty: Mia Michaels has chosen the song she likes, Wade Robson (a Michael Jackson discovery) is ready, Shane Sparks has been contacted and Nigel has left messages for Paula Abdul.

Given Jackson's tremendous influence in the world of music and dance, it is no surprise that SYTYCD wants to pay its respects.  Many of its contestants have cited Jackson as a major influence over the years.

The only real hold up at this point appears to be securing the rights to use Michael Jackson's music.  Lythgoe and others are in touch with Sony Music trying to work out the kinks.

If you want to see some fun, candid shots of Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels and Adam Shankman then check out Nigel's Twitpic account!
