Dirigible of conservative pleasure Rush Limbaugh will make a rare public appearance tonight, a quite public one actually. An hour from the time of this post he'll guest on The Jay Leno Show.
Obviously, given the lack of timeliness of said post, the encounter's already happened. The West Coast is a little behind, as usual.
Since the booking, discussion has centered on how hard Limbaugh will jerk Leno's chain, not vice versa. Actually the two are similar types: husky, self-made Everymen.
In any case Leno was obviously a better fit for Limbaugh, whose appearances with David Letterman were marked by more confrontation, albeit of a casual bent, than he, Limbaugh, is likely to get from Leno.
The Jay Leno Show, in its second week, is already on a bleak trajectory. Whether or not Limbaugh provides a boost might depend on the average appetite for bloviation. That's something both Limbaugh and Leno are extremely good at.
