'The Biggest Loser:' Michael Ventrella takes home the title

It was an intense season of "The Biggest Loser," with everything from tears to shocking twists in the game. In the end, it was exactly as it should be -- the person who lost the greatest percentage of their weight managed to walk home with the grand prize.

Michael Ventrella began this season as the largest competitor in the history of the show -- he first weighed in at 526 pounds, but by the end of the show he managed to lose over 50% of his total body weight. His final weigh-in came at an impressive 262 pounds.

The runner-up for the season was Ashley Johnston, who lost 183 pounds during the show to finish at 191. She came within less than 2% of taking off half of her body weight.

Then again, are there really any "losers" outside of everyone who loses weight? While money is nice, these guys will all be able to live better lives -- and they inspired us every step of the way.

Check back on Wednesday for a brief chat with Michael, and feel free to share your reactions on the finale below.

I loved Michael from day one of this season! I knew he could do it and I knew he would win! Now where is his family restaurant? I want to go eat!! And while I'm there I'll tell him he was inspiring!
