'The Bachelor' January 25, 2010; Jake refuses to give a rose

In this weeks episode of 'The Bachelor', the remaining nine women pack up their possessions and leave the comfort of home behind. The nine women move into two luxurious RV's and head out for a romantic camping trip, traveling up the California coast to spend time with Jake. There would be three stops along the way for three dates with 'The Bachelor'. A one on one date, a group date and a two on one date. Jake has one rose to give on each date, if he so chooses.

Gia was chosen for the one on one date with 'The Bachelor'. A beautiful wine vineyard was the setting. Gia is a city girl and Jake wanted to see how she would cope in a country setting. Cope Gia did, turning child-like and playful, playing hide and seek and spin the bottle. Actually, spin the bottle was not such a bad idea as Gia received her first sensuous kiss from 'The Bachelor' for her efforts. She also heard these words from Jake, "Will you accept this rose?".

Pismo Beach was the next stop for 'The Bachelor' group date which included Jesse, Ashleigh, Tenley, Ali, Corrie and Vienna. Jake expected the women to be prepared to get extremely dirty since dune buggy rides and sand surfing was on tap. They indeed got dirty. Once each crack and crevice had been invaded with sand, the girls were treated to a hotel stay with a hot bath and some desired one on one time with 'The Bachelor'.

Jake asked each girl on the group date to spend a few minutes alone with him so that he might get to know them a little better. Vienna further alienated herself from the other women by asking to be the last to spend time with 'The Bachelor'. She wanted to be the last girl to kiss Jake. Her ploy to receive the rose backfired however. Jake chose to give the group date rose to Tenley.

The final stop was at Big Sur, for the two on one date with Jake. Ella and Kathryn joined 'The Bachelor' for a quiet, romantic dinner. Kathryn seemed a bit upset when Jake had eyes only for Ella and she let 'The Bachelor' know her feelings when her alone time came. Jake explained Kathryn's fears away by telling her he would find himself "lost in her eyes", and that he "felt a natural attraction" to her. Well obviously Jake was not attracted to Kathryn, nor did he have eyes for Ella...'The Bachelor' sent them both packing! Neither received a rose.

With the camping trip at an end it is now time for the rose ceremony. 'The Bachelor', Jake has four roses left to give.

1. Gia received the one on one date rose.

2. Tenley received the group date rose.

'The Bachelor' gives the four remaining roses to:

3. Ali

4. Corrie

At this point Jake excuses himself leaving Ashleigh, Jesse and Vienna wondering what is happening.

'The Bachelor', Jake heads backstage in search of Chris. "I need some advice...Do I have to give out two more roses?". Chris informed Jake that if he was sure that two of the three women out there was not Jake's future wife, he need not give out both of the roses. 'The Bachelor' was certain. One rose was taken away.

Jake returned to the three anxious women.

Chris took one rose and stated that this was the final rose.

'The Bachelor' gave the final rose to:

5. Vienna

Ali was furious. Her hatred of Vienna may be her downfall with 'The Bachelor', Jake.

Will Jake continue a relationship with Vienna, despite numerous warnings? Is there a connection forming between 'The Bachelor' and Gia? Watch 'The Bachelor', Monday night at 7:00 p.m. central. If you should miss the show, I will provide you with the answers to these intriguing questions.

In my opinion, if Jake is really looking for a long lasting marriage, he should have kept Ella. I think he sent her home because he had real feelings for her and it scared him to think of having a ready-made family, even though he really liked her son. He didn't want to hurt either one of them.
