Susan Boyle surprises fans at children's gala

"Britain's Got Talent" singing sensation Susan Boyle has been largely under the radar over the course of the past few weeks, but she has finally stepped out again for a public appearance.

According to a new story from The Daily Record, Boyle surprised fans at a young children's gaga close to home in West Lothian by showing up, performing, and ultimately helping to crown the winner.

One parent gushed about the impact Susan's appearance had on many of the youngsters:

"Susan made the children's day. She's such a massive star now - we were all amazed she turned up."

Boyle is reportedly in the midst of recorded her follow-up to debut "I Dreamed a Dream", which sold more than ten million copies around the globe.

There are very few performers who are as unassuming and down to earth as Susan Boyle. This is her hometown and she loves children. Appearing at the gala was a given. Even the best selling artist of 2009 is still available for a small local celebration and signs autographs with no photo op or entourage. Gotta love her.

Suasn is down to earth, how many other artists would find time to attend their local event? Susan is giving back to her community, and I have a feeling that she will do more charity works in the future. Love Her.

Like Justin Bieber really needs to pass out prizes at a elementary school spelling bee.

A couple of days before that, Subo was in the audience at a local school performance of the Wizard of Oz.

There's nobody like her on the celebrity scene. She's bought a slightly larger house and treats herself to a little more shopping at Tesco's (like a UK Walmart), but that's about it. No throwing her money around, but you can bet that her home region will benefit big time from her charitable contributions. Best of all, in recent pics, she looks radiantly happy.

As Simon Cowell said a couple of months ago, "She flies in the face of every talentless monster, who is famous for doing absolutely nothing."

@Julie, with her CD sales, she doesn't exactly NEED to do those things either.

Another indication of Susan's kind heart and her love of children. She took time out from her recording session to support a local event and delight her fans. She is fabulous!
