As has been the case for the past two seasons here at the page, I will be taking an in-depth look at each "Survivor: Nicaragua" contestant leading up to the season premiere on September 15. Check back every weekday for a new update.

Name: Chase Rice

Age: 24

Tribe: La Flor

Occupation: Pro race car jackman

Residence: Fairview, North Carolina

Strengths: Chase is a strong guy, and he is also is a guy with the potential to work the charm. He's an aspiring country singer, and there's nothing people want more during boring times on the island than some entertainment. He really seems like a down-to-earth guy, and that sort of personality always has the potential to go very far in the competition. For evidence of that, all you have to do is look at JT to see where personality can take you in this game.

Weakness: There may not actually be too much in this game that Chase has trouble with physically -- he should do well at most challenges, and camp life also shouldn't be a problem. He may have to work on keeping his head in the game, though, since he will probably be the target of many ladies' affections throughout the game. As we have seen many times before on the show, a contestant like Parvati can very dominate the game.

Past 'Survivor' Comparison: I know, this one is obvious -- Chase is the new version of Chase or Joe Dowdle or Colby or any other southern guy to ever come on the show. The only thing he can hope for is that he doesn't decide to write any random letters to anyone on the other tribe along with an attached immunity idol. (Sorry, JT -- you will never live that down!)

Early prediction: Since Espada seems more likely to make it to the endgame, it's hard to pick anyone from La Flor and claim that they will go extremely far. If there was one person to pinpoint though as a favorite from the tribe, though, it would be Chase. No one is going to have any reason in the world to get rid of this guy. (Why would they?) He will probably be one of the last members of the jury.
