Danielle DiLorenzo (left) and Candice Woodcock were two of the smartest strategists on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" this season, but a few mistakes cost each of them in terms of sticking around for another week.
I had the opportunity to talk with both ladies on Friday about their time on the show.
Matt: Let's start with Candice. So why did you guys decided to get rid of Tom over Colby? Strategically, he might be a better asset in the future.
Candice: I like Tom -- and I tried to keep him around. But Rupert's popularity was threatened by Tom, and he wants to be the "ultimate survivor." And Amanda wanted Tom gone because Tom targeted her early.
I think that for me it would have helped to keep Tom, but in order to be a cohesive unit we may not have had our winning streak with Tom there.
Matt: Do you think your move would have been different if you had seen Russell play beforehand?
Candice: I knew was a liar, and I knew that he didn't stand behind anything...but I did believe that he wanted to get rid of Parvati because I thought it was in his best interest to get rid of her. I thought I could use that information to go Parvati and then say that Russell was trying to get rid of her.
I didn't flip to Russell because I thought he was such a great guy (laughs)...I thought at that point it was a good move.
Matt: All right, so Danielle -- how shocked were you about Colby's 'I just want to eat popcorn attitude' during your immunity idol fight with Amanda?
Danielle: Colby and I had an understanding as far as him being on the same page at me...at that moment, it was weird because he wanted on my team. But I think he felt that what she did was genuinely wrong...I just think that the first reaction was just 'that was so wrong.' It worked for me!
Matt: So you are from originally one of my favorite seasons in 'Exile Island.' We've seen you and Cirie already on the show -- are there any other people like Shane [Powers] or Terry [Deitz] who you think deserved another show?
Danielle: I thought Shane was going to be out there this season -- I was really disappointed when he wasn't. Cirie's a great strategic mind...I think with Terry, he was just another Tom. Tom probably had more of the fan following so they picked him.
