The newest Northeast snowstorm has had a huge impact in the region, and it even affected two daytime talk shows that are filmed in New York City: “Live With Regis and Kelly” and “The View.” Although both shows aired today, both were affected by the newest Northeast snowstorm.
Both Regis Philbin and co-host Kelly Ripa were able to make it into the studio for Wednesday’s taping, but the live audience was miniscule. The hosts thanked the few audience members for braving the cold and miserable conditions. When it came to draw a number for the “Winter Travel Trivia” contest, the numbers went up to 101, but Kelly Ripa was quick to respond, “What did we give everyone eleven numbers each?”
The snowstorm also affected “The View” on Wednesday. One of its hosts, Whoopi Goldberg was snowed in at her home, and could not make it to the studio for today’s taping. Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd were all on hand, and explained that since they lived close-by, the trip in was not too treacherous. Not so for Whoopi Goldberg who lives farther away. She was a no-show due to the snowstorm. In addition, there were plenty of empty seats in the audience. With more than 50% of the audience seats empty, Barbara Walters praised those few fans that were on hand for Wednesday’s taping. “You are a few, crazy people,” she commended the small audience. Behar replied with humor, “Listen, those people are homeless, Barbara.”
No word yet about the “Late Show With David Letterman” and how the storm will affect today’s taping. With the snow not expected to end until midnight, empty seats and no-show guests are both very strong possibilities.

I hate all that snow.. glad I don't live in NY anymore. We only get a dusting of snow every year.. and on rare years we have it last for a day or two.
