Wednesday night's new episode of "Psych" had pretty much everything a devoted fan of the show could want -- craziness random one-liners, a decent case, and even a cameo appearance. Yes, seeing Tears for Fears' Curt Smith was random, but it was also perfectly in line with the show.

The appearance with greater significance this time was Nestor Carbonell -- otherwise known as Richard Alpert from "Lost" -- since he could bring about the greatest change Shawn Spencer has been through since the beginning of the show. Why? As Gus puts it, he is "Shawn 2.0" -- someone who is smart, capable, and clearly has a knack for exposing the truth. He also is lying about a certain part of who he is.

Nestor's character is competition in pretty much every way, including with Juliet, and it is his decision to come clean with her than may inspire Shawn to do the same. Could this mean that a relationship between him and Juliet is in the cards soon after seasons of teasing? It looks very well possible, though if Shawn finally does reveal his secret Juliet's probably not going to be as forgiving as she is with her new flame, who admitted his facade after just a few days.

Away from the long-term plot here, this was still a funny lines with good Shawn-and-Gus dialog, not to mention a rare occasion where Lassiter actually stood behind our psychic detective.

Are you pleased to see that "Psych" may finally be taking a step forward with Shawn and Juliet?
