Last night was the highly anticipated premiere of Kat Von D's hit TV show, LA Ink. The episode focused on one of the tattoo artists, Corey Miller. At the beginning of the episode, after gettng a recap of the previous season and shop manager Liz being fired, Miller is seen in Von D's office, telling her that he is quiting.
As the episode progresses, Miller quits the shop, and goes home. Miller leaving proves to be a shock to all in the shop, most of all to Von D, who later on in the show says that it was a bit "out of the blue."
Nikki Sixx, Von D's boyrfriend makes an appearance, and tells his girlfriend that he had just signed the deal for his radio show -- positive news that excites them both.
Meanwhile at American Electric, tattoo artist Amy returns from New Jersey to assume her position when she is met with a surprise -- a new female artist is working at the shop that goes by the name of "Ruthless' and when Amy walks back over toward her work station, Ruthless confronts her, asking her who she is and doesn't believe Amy when she says she used to work there. Amy asks for the owner of the shop and other artist Paulie, neither of which are there. Amy storms out resolute to find out what is going on. Later on in the show, Ruthless tells Paulie and the shop owner about the experience and they say that "must have been Amy." David the shop owner tells Ruthless that they both have to get along, otherwise one of them will have to leave.
Toward the end of the show, many of Corey Miller's former clients go to the High Voltage Tattoo shop, looking to have a tattoo done by the artist. Shop manager Adrienne had given Miller a call on his cell phone to let him know that he is missed and that the clients are asking for him constantly. Miller then returns to the shop and says that he would like to "work something out" with Kat Von D so that he can continue to work on some of his clients. Von D then invites him back to her office where she bluntly asks him, "So, do you want to work here again?" Miller says that he would like that.
The show ends with Miller's fate at the shop up in the air. Next week's episode will further address the situation.

i think that Liz, had lots to do with this. freaken annoying! man, i think i want to kick her butt! lol. she was just between kat and corey. kat should've fired her from the beggining. if your team is having issues from day one with the new one, that means that you'll always have drama at work! listen to your team.. dont get along?! man.. fire her/him! dont wait til something big happens!
Stop putting spoilers in the titles of recaps!
corey miller leaving is a big disappointment. the show is not how it used to be.. now its nonstop drama. I'd like to see more tattooing pls. and why do they still focus on electric tattoo? it annoys me greatly that they still film Paulie
Love your show. I don't have any tats, but love looking at them on people and often wonder why they put what they put on their bodies. My first experience was with jail house tattoos, I worked in a juvenile institution and the girls were always getting in trouble for tatooing. You have to understand there was not anything steril about the conditions they did them in. Worek there 34 years, but photography is my love, would love to see some of Kats
I think she needs to keep Corey he a hell of a artist!!I love the show. Hopefully they can work it out for the business. And friendship!

i love ur totoo
Corey needed time off....Kat needs to give him some time....and yes Liz is alot of the sh*&stirrin blame....glad she is gone....Kat has got to remember that you have to give people the woosah time they need and Corey has been there for her from back in the day....she is afraid and doesn't want to lose control of her business....understandable BUT Kat's bro has been trained to take care of her and Kat needs to let him try instead of doing all the stuff herself.....bottom line Kat didnt feel she could let Corey go cuz he was the one holding the shop together for her while she is trying to hold her "other stuff" together. They need to go to couples counciling LOL
The show has turned into a mess. You are never sure if the people are really talking to each other or if the words are being dubbed in--notice how when someone is talking and they say something negative about someone they never show their face, they show a picture or a hand or a tattoo or something? It's not even Reality TV anymore. Are we really getting so dumbed down that we can't see it? Did anyone notice when Cory walked into the shop all the artisits were sitting around talking? Where were the customers??? Don't tell me that wasn't scripted.
At the end of the day Kat treated Corey badly - all the guy wanted was some time off to spend at his OWN shop and with his family but she kept saying NO but yet the butt kisser Dan got all the time he wanted to work on his recording career and go on tour.......so what's more important spending some time with your kids or letting a kiss rese take wll the time off!! Seriously Kat, Corey helped you get up and running and this is how you repay him!!!!
