The issue of Mitt Romney's tax returns has been something that has played out for quite some time, and on Tuesday the Republican Presidential candidate was pretty much forced into releasing them after facing some heavy pressue from various people from within the GOP.
The end result? Let's just say that it establishes him as an extremely wealthy American who pays out far less to the government than people in lower income brackets. As Jon Stewart points out on "The Daily Show" Tuesday, Romney's investments have brought him over $40 million in the past two years -- and he's only had to pay out just over $6 million to the government.
Stewart of course has a great deal of fun with this, saying that Romney gives just as much to the government as the guy who shines your shoes at the airport -- he also shows why Romney has worked hard in the past to ensure that tax rates are not increased on investment earnings.
Do you think anything from the segment will actually matter in the overall GOP race?
