Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin may not have been on "Dancing with the Stars" for an extremely long period of time, but she still found a way to rake in a massive amount of cash. According to a new report from PopEater, the reality TV mom was paid half a million dollars just for her time on the show.
An insider had this to say about her paycheck:
"Kate earned over $100,000 per week on 'Dancing.' She's a single mom who has to pay the bills and feed those eight little mouths all by herself. Say what you want about her, but Kate will do anything to make sure her children have a bright future. Even making a fool out of herself on national TV."
So putting it in less opinionated terms, "Dancing" producers knew that Kate would be ratings gold, and so they were potentially willing to pay her more than some of the other contestants. The salaries of some of the other contestants are currently unknown, but it is difficult to see some of them pulling in the cash that Kate did.

No, I am not surprised at all. It sickens me about how Kate cried on national television about not being able to pay her bills. If she were not the kind of selfish woman who puts her kids second to luxury, I would be happy for her -- but I am not.
Please, boycott Kate on DWTS and Kate's new shows for the sake of her children. She needs to get out of the public limelight, because her children do not see her much, unless they are in front of cameras. She barely knows them anymore, and that's sad.
One more comment please: Kate is an addict to attention now. There is an old song that says: "How are going to leave 'em down on the farm, after they've seen Pari." Kate loves the attention so much that she will do leave her kids for long periods of time frequently. This is why I do not like Kate. She is NOT a good mom. Just because she is providing a luxurious lifestyle does NOT make her a good mom! Luxury can be part of it, yes, but what is most important is quality time and love and attention -- not cameras and publicity and a shallow relationship.
I very happy she was paid well. Most of us are not single mothers with eight mouths to feed, cloth, shelter, and send to school. It would do us all good to encourage other women and rejoice when they are blessed.

Contestants get a base salary of $125,000 and bonuses for each week they stay on. Bonuses range from $10,000 to $50,000 (for the final weeks). The winner gets an extra $100,000.
Good for Kate,glad to hear she can bring in that kind of money. God bless her. As for boycotting ,the only person I want to boycott is Ruth.I feel sorry for Ruth for being so selfish she can't be happy for anyone who does well for herself (Kate)& her children.Grow up Ruth learn to be happy for others.
Agree with Ruth. Kate is nothing but a media hound. She is NOT a good mother, she is only a mother because she gave birth. Her nannies are raising her children.
Sorry everyone, but, I am so sick of hearing how she has 8 mouths to feed. What in the world are you saying? She needs money for expensive clothes, body guard, lavish huge home, hair dos, nails, tanning salon, jewelry, trips, several nannys. Give me a break, will ya? She could move into a much more modest home, stop paying a body guard a large salary, stop spending so much money on herself....trying to get on camera as much as possible. Get realy paople. Plenty of hard working moms feed as many kids on much much much less. She actually wants the easy way out, and a lavish life style. ...at her kids expense. I am also so tired of her saying that she is all along. OK, whos fault is that? Kate has run off everyone in her life, except those who will bring her fame. AND THAT IS THE TRUTH.
Hey, don't worry about the kids while kate is out jetting across the country drawing attention to herself. They are spending "quality" time with jon's newist girlfriend!! As someone else said-- What a pair of Jack Asses!!!
Kate only cares about Kate. You don't have to hate a person to see they are not a good role model. She can afford to stay home but chooses not to. She is photographed daily at tanning spas, mani-cure salons so how can she even spend quality time with her kids???? When she does spend time with the kids she complains and even blogs about it. The kids are happier when Jon is around At least they are getting some attention!
Did anyone hear her say to Tony that 90% of the people don't like her? She's a very sick selfish person and horrible mother to look at all these materialistic things for happiness.
She doesn't know the meaning of spending time with the kids. Its all about her.
