Jeff Probst picks Parvati as the best Survivor player. CBS.
Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains is speaking out about the five contestants left standing, and in a surprising statement to the Associated Press, he said, “I think Parvati is the best overall player, regardless of whether she wins or loses, to ever play the game of Survivor.” Many die--hard Survivor fans may be shocked at this statement because Russell Hantz has a super strong following and a reputation as being the best Survivor contestant ever. So, why did Jeff Probst choose Parvati Shallow over Russell Hantz? He went on to explain, “She came in with a giant target on her back, and she managed to not only last in the game, but control the game. I think she and Russell will both argue that they’re the ones in control, and both are probably right.” Does Parvati really trump Russell Hantz as the best player ever? Hantz may be tired this season, but he's still the same coniving mastermind we saw last season. So, what gives?

Russell Hantz remains a Survivor fan favorite. CBS.
The latest castaway to have his flame put out was Rupert Boneham, the lovable pirate and one of the two remaining two “Heroes.” With four villains and just one hero left, it certainly looks like the villains will reign supreme during the final tribal council. Those remaining on the island with a one-in-five chance at winning the million dollar prize are: Russell Hantz, Parvati Shallow, Jerri Matheny and Sandra Diaz-Twine from the original Villains tribe and Colby Donaldson from the Heroes tribe.
The season finale of Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains airs on Sunday, May 16th when the remaining five castaways attempt to make it to the final tribal council. You can catch the two-hour finale on CBS from 8/7c until 10/9c. A one-hour live reunion show will immediately follow the finale.

I've been watching "Survivor" since the beginning. I don't think anyone deserves the title of "Best Survivor Player Ever" unless they've been a "Survivor" winner at least once. Russell has yet to win "Survivor" and I doubt he ever will because too many people on the jury would hold grudges and not vote for him.
Yes, I agree with Jeff. Some of the players in the game might not like Parvati, but she has that "quality." She has once done what Russell was unable to accomplish: convince a jury of people you helped to vote out to give you a million dollars.
Russell plays the game like a bull in a china shop, and while that might be an effective strategy to reach the end... it does little to actually seal the deal.
Parvati plays the Black Widow game - manipulative and nimble, with a hint of beauty. You can't help but be awed by her, even when you know she's after the kill.
Sandra is the assassin - you can call it coattail riding, but I think it's more strategic than that. Her loyalty lies with Sandra alone, and she affixes her trust to the train moving closest to her destination. As long as she keeps her hands cleaner than the person next to her - which she does by masking her deceptions with humor - then she's a real threat to win.
Overall, though - I think Parvati has the whole p
Been watching survivor since the beginning. Without a doubt if someone is deserving of the title of best survivor to play the game, in my opinion it has to be Parvati. Yes Russell and his fans will say that is a false statement. But the fact is, if you haven't won the game at least once. You don't deserve the title. True, like a lot of his loyal followers, I also feel Russell played the better game and should have won his first time around in Samoa. But the social aspect of the game eludes Russell. He just doesn't seem to grasp the concept of that very important piece of the puzzle of the game of Survivor. People have emotions. You can't talk to and treat people with that kind of hostility and then expect them to like you.. let alone give you a vote for a million dollars. Parvati does deserve the title as the best. However I do not believe she will be declared the winner. I watch the Ponderosa videos. I have a keen eye for the personalities that are left on that jury. Sandra will win.
I like parvati she has to be the best. Looks could kill and she has done a great job keeping her friends close and her enemies even closer. Russell I like because he is very entertaining. Yes he does a great job getting to the end, but the social game and the fact sometimes he has a big mouth and should keep it close, would have gotten him the 1 million dollars last season. Glad Rob was gone long long time ago. Hate watching him, hate listening to him and if I was on the show with him I would burn his hat. Sandra will win just because the spoilers say so and so far they have been dead on perfect.
If I had to pick one "best ever" player, I'd probably pick Parvarti, too. I'm not a big fan of hers but she's got game and she's definitely in the running for a second win. She doesn't ride coattails (as she herself brazenly told Russell) and doesn't give up on challenges, winning some big ones when it gets down to the wire. Clever, clever girl! Sandra should be up there, too. It's the second time she's played "anyone but me" and it's working again. While they think they are playing her, she's right in there and fully aware of what everyone else is thinking and planning to do. Good job ladies!!!
I am sorry but i would have to disagree with all you, yes parvati came into this game with a target it on her back and the only reason she is still there is because of Russell. Russell has to be the best Survivor player not only because he is a master strategic player but he see's weakness in his and other alliances, also his ability to be out numbered 1 : 8 and still have control over whos going home. Russell is and always will be the best Survivor player.

So, once again Russell lost the game to a bunch of disgruntled, ticked off sore losers!! It makes me sick, its not fair. America needs to be included in voting! Russell is the most strategic, manipulative, persuasive, observant, clever and remarkable player ever to play the game of Survivor! Are you kidding me? The audacity of Rupert to chastise Russell for his obnoxious ways is ridiculous, he was just as ruthless as Russell as was everybody else on that game. To condemn Russell for doing exactly what the game specifies that you should do,outwit, outlast, and outplay is just stupid as Russell would say! If this was a popularity contest, this would be pretty boring to watch but I guess that is what it is coming to and I believe Russell should be given the respect he deserves by the Survivor producers. Because of Russell and all of the drama that he caused and his extreme cleverness and ingenuity is the main reason I watched and thoroughly enjoyed this game. Russell, You Got My Vote!
I agree 100% for sure Parvati is the best player to play this game even before this season. She has the full package. Her game is usually hidden behind Russell because he is very arrogant with what he does in the game which are not always good ideas
Russell the best player? Many say he is such a strong "strategic" player yet he doesn't understand a fundemental aspect of the game; the jury votes for the winner, not your ego. Sorry but I don't think Russell has a clue about strategy yet I would say that he is a great tactician. The problem is that great tactics might win battles but not the war and Russell, you have lost 2 wars.
i think that parvati is the best player because the other players knows about her past whereas no one knows russell's past. i think that if everyone were to watch survivor samoa, russell would be voted off just like johny fairplay
