'Hannah Montana' star Miley Cyrus offered some 'college' advice

Miley Cyrus may say she doesn't want to go to college, but is it possible that she could re-think those plans? One former teen star certainly seems to think it would be a good idea if she did.

In a chat with Fancast, former "Life Goes On" star Kellie Martin (who is busy promoting the new NBC movie "The Jensen Project") had this to say when asked if she had any sort of advice for the "Hannah Montana" star -- after all, she knows how to handle the situation from experience:

"Go to college.  I really think that saved me.  Fred [Savage] went to Stanford, Mayim [Bialik] went to UCLA, I went to Yale... It’s really, really important to get an education because when all of this is gone, then at least you have your education.

"She’s wildly talented, little Miley Cyrus, and she has a sweet family.  If she went to college, she’d be totally set. She’d be set forever.”

In additional news, I also had the opportunity to speak with Martin about the new project. Check back soon for the full interview.

Gee I wonder how much extra her new TV role is paying since she got a college degree. Let me give you an hint. NONE. She is making the same amount with or without a college degree. College degrees are only benificial in certain careers. Miley choice of career(s) doesn't require a degree to be successful.

it might give her a seriously-needed reality check. as long as wherever she chose to go/would be let into the people there wouldnt let her keep that big head of hers and she wouldnt try to act bigger than everyone else.

While I would like to see her get a college degree because it would bring her back to reality, it just isn't necessary for her. When all of "this" is gone from her, if she saved her money wisely, she won't have to rely on a college degree when she is older. Her degree of fame so far should have provided her with enough money to set her for life. Plus, I don't think she has even technically graduation from high school yet- she still has another year to go and could change her mind.

Of course, she should definitely go to college! I think she believes that all of this fame and fortune will last forever and that's very naive, IT WON'T!

Miley's acting career seems to be accelerating, not in decline. But if she somehow couldn't find work in movies, network television, cable television, stage, etc. She could always fall back on her second career as a music Superstar! It's nice to have something to fall back on.

Kellie Martin is a terrible role model for this country. She has wasted all kinds of other peoples money, and a valuable education slot that others were trying to use, because she didn't decide earlier what she wanted to do. She just can't go back into a field that requires neurobiology (her field) a decade later, because the field changes every decade.

"Miley's acting career seems to be accelerating, not in decline..."

^^^^^ Actually her MOVIE acting career took a huge hit when professional critics and anyone who's not under 12 years old, gave her performance in "The Last Song" an F. She was flat out terrible in that film. As it turns out, all her years "acting" in Hannah Montana were a waste of time. Sure, she made a ton of cash. But it had zero effect on enhancing her acting skills. She has a like 2 facial expressions in her acting repertoire that center around her mouth almost exclusively. When she pushes her lips out (pouting) she's angry or sad. When she's happy she gives us that creepy toothy smile that earned her the "horseface" nickname. I know Miley refuses to go to College but how about considering going to ACTING school?
