Exclusive 'Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains' interview: Jessica 'Sugar' Kiper

Jessica Kiper, more commonly known to "Survivor" players as "Sugar," made quite a splash during her debut on "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains." She had her top ripped off during the reward challenge, cried after losing immunity, and ultimately ended up getting voted out unanimously by her fellow castaways. It was a far cry from the third-place finish she mustered in "Survivor: Gabon," but if you were listen to Sugar talk you could almost say she was happy to be out of the horrible conditions of Samoa.

Matt Carter: What made you want to return to "Survivor?"

"Sugar" Kiper: Well, the fact that they asked me. (Laughs.) I didn't think I'd end up doing better than I did before because it was a miracle to get as far as I did in Gabon. But I did actually go into this game trying -- I was going to try and win. That's probably what messed me up.

Matt: Were you starstruck by anyone out there, or were you surprised by certain people being cast?

Sugar: Yeah, me -- I was like, 'how am I on this season?' There were all of these awesome people -- like Rupert -- and [then] Sugar? It was crazy...I kind of wanted to get to know a lot of these people, I didn't know most of their seasons. I went into it completely blind. Blonde and blind! (Laughs)

Matt: You were only there three days, but were there any alliances you were trying to form right away?

Sugar: Yeah, I was trying to get with Rupert and Tom and JT. We had talked, you know, we had our own conversations they didn't show, but it didn't play out that way 'cause they didn't end up being my heroes. So why would they show that?

I was also trying to break up the Micronesia alliance really hardcore, but you never know who you're talking to -- they might have already joined that alliance.

Matt: Comparing this season to "Gabon," were the elements just as bad?

Sugar: Are you kidding me, it was so much worse! In Gabon it really didn't rain -- it drizzled a little bit...it was really rainy for a couple of seasons, and I was like 'at least Gabon wasn't like that.' Samoa is very, very wet.

Matt: One last question for you: is there anyone on the Villains tribe you would have wanted to work with? I'm not assuming Randy...

Sugar: Oh no; surprisingly, I would have loved to work with Randy. I would have liked to team up with Randy. I like Randy. I would have liked to team up with Jerri and Coach and maybe Russell.
